God damn that looks sexy and I'm not even an enthusiast. Is there something similar to this body, but with the handlebars lifted up off the body?

idk but i used to like everything but the handle bars on a cafe racer but its starting to grow on me desu.

Side car (and qt to place in it) optional.
>>
>>10865692
Beauty of these old bikes is that you can swap out basically any part you want, handlebars especially.

>>10865710
Mine's leaning towards the brat end of the spectrum really. The handlebars are about 2 inches lower than stock, but not nearly as low as clip-on's like lots of cafes have. I prefer to be more upright than leaning over, crotch rocket style.

>>

Yes.
>>10865742
With some enfield you don't even get so much as an electric starter, just full old school mech so you'll have to be a bit of a tinkerer to own one.
>>
>>10865752
You have one? how much?
>>
>>10865725
Fugg. Anyway I can get one of these without pooinloo finger prints on it?
>>
>>10865758
No. But really wanted one at one stage. Wanted a sidecar too lel.

Just never got around to it unfortunately since work required that I get a car so no more motorcycle dreams for me.
>>
>>10865748
Yeah i dig the handlebars on that, not too tall. the colors on the tank are kinda funky though.

Unless you find a vintage english one in good nick.

Thing is, the indian company sells two grades: the shit they make for local consumption which is shit (you can rent one for a bike tour of india if you dare set foot on that subcontinent), and they make the export grade models which are much nicer.

They're old school 1950's tech - they haven't changed - so kinda hard to fuck up even for pooinloo's.
But you have to know your way around an engine, was pretty much the caveat everyone gave me when I was checking them out.

Still, I think they're the most effay cycles you can get regardless of origin.
>>
>>10865771
Don't buy a nice bike up front. You're gonna put it down and scratch it up and hate yourself. Buy a good 1-2k starter and ride it into the ground. If you're in the states, take a MSF course before you buy.
1970-1980s Hondas, Suzukis, and Yamahas are as plentiful as they are cheap. Good to learn to ride, good to learn to work on, and good looking.
>>
>>10865768
Eh. Personal preference. I'm not worrying about aesthetics this year. I just wanna ride. Next winter will be when it gets a makeover.

Yes.

I had even already planned how I wanted to go out:
>sunny day on a quiet country road
>not a cloud in the sky
>aforementioned qt in the sidecar
>her long golden hair streaming out behind her (bad move)
>she reaches out and places her hand on mine on the handlebar
>I turn to see her beaming at me
>I smile back at her
>that slight distraction is all that it would take
>something happens; I'll never truly know
>before I know it, we lurch to the left
>qt's is flung back over the side but doesn't fall out
>her hair gets sucked into the sidecar wheels
>rips off her scalp and half her face
>I'm still wrestling control of the bike
>pooinloo engineering fails me one final time
>crash into fence and go flying 20 feet
>the last thing I hear before it all fades to black are the indescribable screams of someone missing their fucking face interspersed with my failing heartbeat
>before I die of massive internal bleeding, staring up at the blue sky with my one remaining eye, this one crystalline thought will piece through the fog that is my mind shutting down: I don't even like blondes wtf lmao

Alas it was not to be. Maybe I could live vicariously through one of you someday.

NICE TRY, but no.

Cruisers have a wide variety of body styles, and so do cafe racres depending on the company...

Most sport bikes look the same with the exception of few Italian sport bikes. The average person couldn't tell the difference between a Japanese sportbike, and an Italian sportbike

This is so true. Literbikes are just perfect, anything bigger just becomes a hassle to ride. I'd even say go for a 600 or even less if its your first bike. Riding a 250-400-600 bike to its limits is much more fun than being scared of your literbike. And modern literbikes can be terrifying.

this.
for your first always go small and light.
lets you learn the fundamentals or riding on something that's easy on corners and manageable.
also the lighter weight is nice when you have to pick it up after you slip on gravel for your first time.
you will dump your first bike at least once, likely at a low speed, but you will go down.
most common way to dump is making a right hand turn at a stop sign in the spring when there is still salt and dirt on the roads.
pic related is my first.
rode this for two years while fixing up a 750f.
>>
>>10872655
my '75 750f super sport.
totally stock.
bought it off of some old timer on craigslist who had stored it away for years under a tarp in a barn.
when i got it it had no no vinyl on the seat and only two cylinders fired consistently.
replaced all the leads for the spark plugs.
replaced the points with an electric ignition.
replaced the valve seals and engine gaskets and it was good to go.
