So I've been growing my hair out on the top for a bit as I want to get high top dreads, and this is pretty much the first time I've ever grown my hair out in my life. I've always had short buzzcuts that I would get cut every few weeks or so. So I'm pretty new to this shit.
Whenever I run my hand through my hair and shit, I always end up with hair falling off into my hands. Like nothing that makes a noticeable visual difference. Just little curls and strands. When I wash my hair it happens a lot too. Again, nothing that makes me look like I'm losing hair, but when I run my hand through my hair while I'm washing it, there'll be a ton of little strands and curls in my hands.
Is this a bad thing or does this shit happen to everyone? Like I said I've never grown my hair out before so this is never something I've really been able to properly notice.

Simply start braiding.
Braids are actually a protective hairstyle that will prevent breakage. Your hair will grow faster. Just undo then every one or two weeks, comb hair, apply moisterizers/leave-in conditioners and redo them.

1. clean hair, to get leftover hair strands out from the cut. don't feel a need to change up your routine, but I do a quick acv/baking soda rinse, followed by co-washing (washing with conditioner instead of shampoo)
2. lightly dry hair. you'll want to pat dry, and leave some moisture. the towel has the potential to be too rough. Either way, you dont want your hair soaking wet.
3. apply leave-in conditioner to hair, followed by gel. make sure you don't miss a spot.
4. gently take your curl sponge and rub it on hair in a circular motion until hair is sufficiently twisted.
