Why do some people only get freckles in the summer? What does the summer have that makes the freckles pop up? Vitamin D?

I have the freckles genetic (my mom has a lot of freckles) and I have a bit of freckles on my nose that you can only see if you look at my face very close. I want more visible freckles though. What do I need to do?
