i hemmed the pants on a sewing machine, nipped off a lil bit of the edges and put it in the washing machine. very cash

>>10822135
used friend's sister's screenprinting equipment, i actually just drew the graphic and he cleaned it up on photoshop and printed it on the pants.

Hello /diy/
Today I've cut a tshirt diagonally into a shape of a scarf, then soaked it in coffee.
1.How should I dry it?
2.Can I put in the laundry or will the color wash off?
>>
>>10822404
Ew
>>
>>10822109
love it. pretty goat fit imo
>>
>>10822109
I love the idea but why is it pointing up to your crotch? Could've used a slightly more interesting graphic imo but good job anyway. Also personally would've preferred a baloon pant/tapered silhouette +- pleats over frayed but thats just me
>>
>>10822312
nope, looks like something i can do by myself though so i'm def gonna check it out soon
>>
>>10822109

i saw these pants and thought they where cool as hell.
>>
>>10822404
How you should do it
>wash it, the color will wash off
>once it's clean dunk it in the coffee
>iron it on high heat
that way the color will stick
>>
>>10822756
screen printing is better than iron transfers
the downside to screen printing is cracked images, but the downside to iron transfers is chipping images

London?
>>
>>10823084
wow, that's actually incredible. nice. how the fuck did you get it to billow like that tho
>>
>>10823098
a little technique I made up called pleats
>>
>>10823084
>what is a steam iron
>fucking 1" long topstitching

I think we can do a little bit better than this, Becky. But good job on your blind hem stitch
>>
>>10823084
that waistband is bugging me a bit
did you miss stitch a bit or something? or is it the way you did your pleats that leave those gaps?
>>
>>10823135
I sewed down each pleat about 2" but I should've done those parts longer to make it more obvious i guess
>>
>>10822361

If it were me I'd try to do 2 layers of spraypaint very carefully stenciled on and then put it in the dryer on low for a bit.

But honestly fabric like that isn't meant for silk-screening, dying, or painting.
>>
>>10823254
thanks for the advice, should I use a roller or a spray can?
>>
Need some help famalam.

I have pic related and I kinda wanna chop the bottom dark grey hem off. I got an XL, when I really shoulda got a L, so I don't need the length, and just feel it would look a lot better without it. I already roll the sleeves up onto my wrists. If I just cut it off with scissors will it look shit? Best way of getting rid of it?
>>
>>10823677
help me I'm scared
>>
>>10823677
Please use a seam ripper if it's sewn on as opposed to scissors
>>
>>10822109
Shit man you absolutely nailed the vibe of the Yohji prints nice job.

>>10823084
If I saw that skirt on the street I would assume you'd spent the $50 so nice job.
>>
Whats a good thing to do to non-skinny jeans? Any wash. I have shit ton of jeans and i dunno wtf to do wih em
>>
>>10824360
Well if the issue for you is their wideness then you can taper them in a heartbeat, not that I completely endorse that idea, non-skinny jeans are cooler at times. Raw cutting the ends can look great depending on your style, and hemming up will avoid the saggin' over shoes look a lot of people dislike.
>>
>>10823677
Cut off the end, fold some fabric over and sew it back down, check other sweaters you have you should be able to see how they've finished the hemlines for reference.
>>
>>10822109
this is real nice m8
would cop, especially if they were pleated pants and the print were on the side

Okay /fa/ what's your opinion on making a pair of jeans completely from scratch. I don't have any lightweight denim pants and I'm thinking somewhere close to 10oz denim. Is this too low?
>>
>>10824442
:(((((((((((( why??!!! stahp it i cant afford velcros and you are destroying it!
>>
>>10824508
Bumping because I'm really interested in designing my own clothes but I want to know if I'm doing it wrong. Google really doesn't help much if at all.
>>
>>10824689
>>10824508
i've done this before
10oz denim is a fine weight
12 oz and above is considered workwear denim, and i frankly do not feel comfortable in denim above 10 ounces

the easiest way to go about this is to get an old pair of pants that fits you well, seam rip it (while jotting notes of the construction), and then using the pieces as your pattern for the new pair (make sure to iron them first)

it's been a while but if i can recall correctly, you begin sewing jeans by sewing the front crotches together

remember to always have the fabrics face to face when sewing
the face is easy to recognize in denim
>>
>>10824805
Is there any denim that's really nice quality that you'd recommend. Price isn't an issue and I have all I need for making them i.e workspace, sewing machine, seam ripper fabric scissors etc etc..
>>
>>10824833
well since you're in a position where purchasing at retail is the only real option, i would go onto moodfabrics.com
i don't think many fabrics, if at all, list the weight
i'm sure customer service could easily help with that
>>
>>10824844
Thanks yo I appreciate it.

Pretty boring but cropped my pants last night.
Considering I never wore these old jeans I'm happy with them.

I actually follow you on IG

>>10826669
Im thinking about doing a raw hem on a pair of raw denim that I have. they are a 36 inseam and I got them tapered but they still dont stack exactly how I want them to. I barely wear the jeans now

>>10826764
it fits well. nice job
