My sister lives there. It's basically a mix of people from California, people from Chicago, and undeported immigrants from Mexico.
There are a lot of dirty hippies, but there are also some chic areas like Cherry Creek where you'll see some well dressed people. Higher end areas with more Chicago and California and less hippies.
The weed thing there is fucking terrible, even the hotels smell like it. A lot of people in Denver are extremely lazy, with exception of the tech industry (mostly) and bit of oil+gas. Basically if the person isn't a nerd or in oil+gas they are worthless.
