Yeah, that's the kind of setup I have in mind. I'm not so sure about the x200 playing in the same league as the new macbook... I think that a c2d will be struggling displaying 1080p video in an external monitor where I expect the macbook to be able to do it.

In these days, where you aren't allowed to do what you want with your own stuff and where we read every week or so in the news that yet another tech company is spying its users, I feel like I don't want to be a part of this.

I believe that an effay dude with a Mac looks faggy. With a Toshiba, Asus or other consumer brand, it's neutral, like if deep down, he's just a normie in fancy clothes. A bulkier laptop, like a thinkpad, a dell latitude or a Panasonic toughbook makes a "I know that I'm doing" style.

It's too thin for wires to run through so the two parallel arms are used to conduct the current and it's perfectly balanced in any position. It's very well made and retains value. Also it just looks good.
In other terms, design. It's quite entry level to be frank, so of course I own one.
Mostly for the fact that it uses an automotive halogen bulb so it's like having a mini-sun at your desk or in your reading corner.

It was a present to myself for getting accepted for an MBA course. I'm doing CS and all I need it for is programming. I already have a powerful video editing rig and a tablet, this is the perfect middle ground.
I do wish I had gotten an SSD but I can upgrade to one in a few years if I must.
