Anyone here take Finasteride? Just started a week ago and looking for other anons experiences with it.
>>
been on it for over 2 years. no sides obv cause finasteride sides is a myth

have lost no hair. never will cause its p much scientifically impossible to lose hair on finasteride

hair still thin and shit like it always has been. but hey at least im not bald r-right
>>
How do you notice if your hair is thinning and how much of hair are you supposed to see falling everyday to say - hey, I'm balding?
>>
have a friend who was on it but stopped cause he was having troubles getting it up
get a ht or just shave it
>>
>>10749552
speaking personally i could see my scalp through my hair. small hairs kept falling out too and my scalp was itchy

i cried

luckily tho its 2015 and theres no reason for any man to be a bald alien anymore
>>
>>10749547
Good to hear it worked for you! I'm happy with the current state my hair is in, so as long as I can maintain I will be happy.

>>10749552
Look for the classic signs of MPB (receding hairline and a thinning crown). I personally noticed my hair receding a few months ago and just thought to myself that I would keep an eye on it. Then about 2 months ago I noticed a shit load of shedding of hair in the shower and throughout the day.
>>
>>10749554
>im not gay its just the fin
fuck off

fin did nothing wrong
>>
>>10749556
I've recently started to lose tiny hairs, 15-25 a day approximately. Am I fucked?
>>
>>10749561
Probably not the average person loses 50-100 hairs a day (some even 150). Post your hairline and crown and I will tell if you anything is wrong.
>>
If you are balding just go bald.

Fuck if you are younger than 25 go bald once just to get used to it, so you don't freak out when it happens

Lawl you're fine bro that little "thin patch" is just part of your hair swirl. How is the hairline?
>>
>>10749561
if the hairs u see r thin, short and shit then youre balding

minituarized hairs is the one sure sign that youre balding, but its cool just l get on fin so u can start worrying about other things instead cause u wont be worrying about going bald again how awesome right :)))
>>
>>10749594
The hairs I have been losing are long and pretty thin am I fucked? I am on Fin.
>>
>>10749577
shut up going bald is a death sentence unless ur top 1% of male attractiveness. not even exaggerating

stop posting this bullshit there is a perfectly safe and effective cure/prevention now and that is fin
>>
>>10749599
no cause ur on fin duh

honestly im not sure anybody has ever lost any hair on fin. at least ive never seen picture evidence of it online
>>
>>10749608
Do you use Rogaine at all anon? I've been tempted to add it but my hairloss is very minor at the moment (most of my friends laugh at me if I bring it up and say "How the fuck are you balding" etc).
>>
>>10749616
yeah x2 a day. im p convinced it does fuck all in terms of hairline maintenance and i wish i had never bothered cause its hassle and it means i cant accurately gauge how much regrowth fin has given me. im just too scared of losing hair to come off now/break the routine

my advice to new baldies would tho would be just use fin and see how it goes(well no doubt)
>>
>>10749633
Okay thank you! How long were you on Fin until you notice a decrease in shedding?
>>
>tfw not losing scalp hair, just receding temples
>just like my granddad

taking finasteride for your hairline seems to be hit or miss, but I tried it anyways

fuck that shit, the anorgasmia was awful and I had terrible mood swings. oh, and it didn't do shit for my hairline

i've accepted my fate that my shit will recede to a degree, but at least i won't have a bald spot

>>
>>10749733
its just common knowledge/what i've seen.. young balders by way of going bald young, go bald aggressively, and aggressive baldness invariably means a general thinning. balding doesnt work like an eraser, u dont keep good density whilst ur hairline rapidly goes to shit, just doesnt work that way
>>
>>10749754
cool thanks man

btw how much does fin cost you, say monthly?
>>
>>10749759
I'm not that anon, but I get 20 5 mg pins of Fin from Target for $3.90 with my insurance. Normally it's around $9 for the generic. I cut the 5 mg into 4ths so I'm taking 1.25 mg a day. Not a bad deal to keep your hair.

Got on fin 1 month ago. Really hope it will help for my hairline... It was all fine until one year ago, now it s receding.

My hair is reduced to short layered cuts or borderline combovers. My hairline receeded and I see some hairs growing where my hairline used to be. Short of going to a derm, do you think fin could thicken my hair or restore my hairline any, and how long would it take to see results? I'm okay with being bald, but I look better with hair and I'd like to keep it if I could.
>>
>>10749901
like i havnt made it clear enough already

it seems like an understatement to say fin is highly effective as a means of bringing hair miniaturization to a halt, it drastically reduces the amount of the hormone responsible for mpb in the body

youll almost ceterianly not lose any more hair, and have about a ~50% of chance of growing some back, and keeping it for as long as youre on the drug for

fin isnt some voodoo hippy cure, fin is to baldness what antibotic is to an infection

thx for listening and have a very hairy christmas

Just FYI I got sides on fin but I've been taking other treatments, (google Seti/RU/CB). It seems to be pretty random whether you get sides or not but the best thing to do would be to take fin and if you get any hint of sides just stop and don't take it again, your body isn't right for it.

The scary thing is there are guys who take it for 10+ years and then they get hit by sides, it can be pretty unforgiving if you don't act on it soon.
>>
>>10749539
yeah it's a component of my hrt
no complaints so far op
>>
>>10750022
How soon did your sides appear? I'm OP the only thing I notice so far is a "lower sex drive" but I still have no problem getting it up and cumming whatsoever.
>>
>>10750022
nah there is a pattern

if ur gay and take fin you wont be able to get it up with a girl
>>
>>10750036
Like a week, getting worse progressively. The lower libido wasn't terrible but I got brain fog on that shit which I couldn't handle so I went off it. I could get it up fine but I was just way less interested in sex overall, which reverted.
>>10750038
I could still get it up with girls though, but my drive was way lower than normal
>>
>>10750049
>but my drive was way lower than normal
this strikes me as entirely imaginary. couldn't be anything else desu
>>
>>10750056
It's not imaginary when you lose your morning wood, I'm not even awake when that happens, so it's entirely a function of my body's hormone levels

no, finasteride actually raises testosterone levels(obviously, because it reduces the amount of testosterone that gets converted in to dht) so its perfectly normal to experience increased libido whilst on it

It's not about how much you lose, it's about how fast it grows back. It's not like bald people can grow hair but it just falls out, balding is a slow process and takes years, people shed between 50 and 150 hairs per day and so doesbald people, the only difference is that balding people don't grow "new" hair. Look at your hair quality and COMPARE your hairline to it's older days, some have a fucked hairline from birth and are delusional tho

I'm 24 now. I have been thinning from the crown area for 3 years. pic related, it's similar where I was just before starting fin.

Last year I decided to make a move and went to dr who prescriped me for generic finasteride. I had heard from possible sides, but I never paid much attention to those.

I was on fin for 6 monts. I regained ALL of my hairloss, and my hair was thick as fuck. BUT

>Within first month I lost my morning wood
>Cum went from full glue to wet watery, wich was expected as fin fiddles with prostate.

Worst side was
>Reduced libido and weakened erection
I always have had rock solid erection, and I fapped 1-3 times per day. But after few monts on fin, I only fapped for 1-3 per WEEK. This reduced libido also affected my sexlife with my gf. It was then when I decided that I'd rather lose my hair than my libido. I've been off from fin for 6 months, libido and erections are now normal, but my hair is still better than when I started using fin, but it's shedding at decent rate. Anyways, I like to think that:

>I'd rather be bald and fap with rock solid dick than try to have sex with full head of hair but with limp dick.

I'm 25 next spring. I'm OK with the fact that I'll lose my hair at this age, as long as I can keep my libido. It's what makes man a man. Some women will always find bald appealing.

Of course I can't say for sure that Fin will cause sides, but just remember that there is a possibility for that.
>>
>>10751158
Still continuing.

I am not comfortable fucking with my hormones at the age of 24. DHT is a very powerful androgen, I like to keep in my body, even if it takes my hair. Fuck hair if it comes to that.

DHT also makes you agressive and good at thinking dont listen to the shills in this thread balding sucks but being a depressed fat faggot with hair is worse believe me

just get a transplant later
>>
I've been taking 1.25 mgs for a year, I had some side effects but they went away after a month or two. But the shit doesn't work. My hair just seems worst then when I started. I'm thinking about just getting off it.
>>
>>10749539
I was on name brand Propecia 1mg for about 2 years, then generic finasteride 1.25mg (split a 5mg pill into quarters) for about 2 more.

Pros: Absolutely stopped my hair loss in its tracks.

Cons: Slowly but surely, my libido waned. Wasn't as hard as before. Developed slight gynecomastia. At some point I started to think I wasn't going to be able to get it up. I never did ultimately fail to get a boner but the fear was enough. I quit using the stuff.

I did shed some hair in the 18 months since I stopped but it wasn't as bad as I'd feared or expected. Libido slowly returning to normal, but I mean slowly. It might take as many years to fully recover as it did to wane.

Bottom like is it's not worth it. Hair transplant surgery has come a long way. Either get some follicles transplanted to your problem areas and see how you like it, or shave it all down to stubble.

I just got some from a dermatologist.

She shilled it ridiculously hard to me that I'm worried. Like she barely mentioned the side effects at all, just said there's a slight chance of impotence. She said that she is currently treating 20 men with it, and none have side effects. Could this be true?
>>
>>10749948

Fuck off, shill. Could you be any more obvious?
>>
Started losing my hair a few months ago, I'm almost 30. Wasn't really sure what I should do because I'm vain as fuck. Started researching online on methods that didn't involve expensive surgery or chemicals with really bad side effects

http://jdmoyer.com/2015/08/03/hair-regrowth-update-and-faq/

Came across this goob. Said he massages his head 2-3 times a day. Thought it was silly but I figured I'd give it a try. Been going for about 2 months now and I've noticed new hair growing where the thinning was at it's worst. The thin spot gets a little darker every week and honestly I'm surprised that it's working. No idea if it'll work for others but it's worth trying because it's completely fucking free.

>>
People don't really want to hear these stories but I started taking it when I was nineteen. Developed gynecomastia, "brain fog", libido and complete erectile dysfunction within a few weeks.

I stopped using immediately. Took me about 3 years to recover fully after numerous trips to a urologist, and undergoing a sleep study where they attaching this monitor to my penis. This was at a teaching hospital as well so a bunch of students got to share in my humiliation.

My hair just isn't worth it, when it recedes far enough, I'll shave it. I think the worst part was trying to time viagra/cialis with one night stands. 4 different occasions where I mistimed and just couldn't get a boner at all.

I did fin and regrew a ton of hair

stay mad baldies and pussies who are too scared to take a pill with 1/10000 chance to harm you

lets go over side effects:
of people who take fin, 1/100 will experience side effects, the VAST MAJORITY of these side effects are minor like watery semen

of those 1/100 people who experience side effects, 1/10 will experience severe sexual side effects (these tend to be men in their 50s who were already near the tipping point)

and of these 1/10 out of 1/100 men who experience severe side effects 99/100 of these men will CEASE TO HAVE SIDE EFFECTS after discontinuing fin for 3 months

remember finasteride has been prescribed to tens of millions of adult men and the result is you get some people with side

compared to accutane, SSRIs, Antipsychotics, etc etc. it's vastly more safe

Dutasteride eliminates dht completely, which I personally don't feel comfortable doing just yet, at least not until lengthy dutasteride studies are released, but I have a feeling it's very safe just like fin

Finasteride like ~80%

Minoxidil just a growth stimulant, nothing to do with hormones
>>
>>10753120
Dutasteride is a stronger form of Fin

Minoxidil is a growth stimulant for hair but doesn't block DHT (the hormone that causes hair loss)

Fin helps to block DHT

I don't get why you're so defensive of this medicine dude lol you seem so touchy aboutt it

I really did look way worse on fin and I felt depressed and sleepy all the time. I was on it for 6 months and I wasn't able to concentrate on anything and my dick and balls did look smaller. I didn't even know the sides existed until I looked them up later and they described exactly what I was feeling

I don't get why you have to militantly attack anyone who disagrees with your precious drug I know it's not everyone but I really did not feel well on fin and I'm glad I'm off.
>>
>>10753122
Promise you man, there's no point in lying. People say you need a year to really assess finasterides efficacy for you.

I didn't even take pictures when I started taking fin because it wasn't that bad at all - now it's gotten worse.

I don't shed that much, but never did before I think... just gotta give it time!
>>
>>10753120
>>10753136
Pretty much this, personally I'm on minox because is cheaper and I'm afraid of sides, it probably isn't as efficient as fina but I'm giving it a try, I'm currently close to 4 months of minox. Problem is my problem is about the temples, something it doesn't really affect, except for some thickening in the hairline you already have. I'd probably need a transplant for that but fuck it, you can't even tell until I pull back my hair

I still have hope, I mean, you are right, if I am taking finasteride there is no way my hair loss can be accelerating at a faster rate than without, so yeah.

I am going to see a doctor to check my thyroid, probably should have done that earlier. Also using dr regenepure shampoo which has keto in it.

I'm ordering from alldaychemist + inhousepharmacy, like you

You're the one pushing a product like its some sort or miracle. Do you have a job or a life or do you just obsess about your hair and worship fin all day?

Judging from your frog NEET posting I'd say the latter
>>

There's a reason people are saying these drugs are dangerous

>>
>>10753702
Finasteride is seemingly a 'permanent solution'

The 10 year studies recorded no further loss, generally speaking

The 15 year studies are yet to be released, but considering the 10 year studies unveiled even more positive results than the 5 year studies it seems absurd to suggest that the 15 year studies will break this positive trend

It is pretty much scientifically possible to lose hair on fin, obviously, as I have already said, because it near enough obliterates the hormone responsible

Also, if anyone doesn't know by now about PGD2 and PGE they need to do some research ASAP

Basically there's a guy on the internet called 'swisstemples' that was able to grow back the hair on his temples by targeting PGD2 and PGE.

The guys routine is pretty insane, but it's actually not that unreasonable to mimic if you're so inclined.

Guy did a lot of research into it, and it actually looks like a legit way to grow back the hair on temples.

The 99% statistic is true, but that is only in the studied group of men, who had not taken the drug for a period longer than five years. There were not yet studies for the (side) effects over periods longer than that last I checked.

I personally first started using minoxidil, and hopped onto fin two months later. I have used it for a year total. My hair did not change, which is what is mainly promised by it. But now, six months after cutting of the usage of both drugs it still is the same so perhaps I was paranoid.
The effects I noticed during the usage of fin were:
>Reduced bodyhair
Like seriously, my chest, leg and armhair thinned out a lot. Not really a problem though.
>Fatique and lower endurance
I swim a lot, while I was on fin I felt more tired often and my endurance plummeted. This is of course not necessarily because of fin, but after stopping it got a lot better and my times improved again.

The second effect caused me to stop in the end. T and dht are both linked to muscle development, and since my hair stayed the same I felt like I no longer wanted to mess with the hormones that essentially make you a man. I have accepted that this might mean I will go bald in the future, but as of now my hair is doing good.

I have a turbonerd friend that got bald cuz of this.he went yolo and shaved recently.

probably this treatment would have been better on him depending on how much it costs, I told him that he was fine before he shaved his head and that he had more time, he was like the "after picture" of that "before after" but he was balding. I still think that move was too early but I guess he was kinda fed up with it. He went full Lex Luthor.

All this makes me feel happy about my genes, blonde long healthy hair. My hair is metal af, I thank the gods everyday for that. You ever find if you sleep with it in or forget to wash it out, you have heavy brain fog in the morning?

I'm not on fin right now, but I've been taking minox for around 6 months. I'm just getting a hair transplant in a year so I don't see any reason to bother with fin so long as I can maintain what's on my head for another 12 months.

tranny here, inb4 literally every joke in the world, I know.

Its good for light hair loss. If you are a guy whos lost a fuck ton of hair, then it may just be better to accept your losses because it can really fuck up your hormones if you weren't transitioning like I was when I was taking it. It may fuck up your hormone levels and bone density if you take it long enough. The way it works is by blocking certain androgens from inducing mpb in men, some experience regrowth (I did.) but its always better if you get on right as you notice the thinning. The side effects are limp dick, loss of strength, breast growth, joint pain, and depression and its caused by the partial blocking of some of your bodies sex hormones.

imo you'd be better off by letting nature take its course and getting a haircut that suits your age and type of baldness but if you are hellbent on keeping your hair then get on it asap, take biotin/multivitamin, use minoxidil, get lots of sleep and make sure you eat lots of soy protein.

>oh and I took accutane as well, the derm had given thousands of patients the drug and said it was completely safe apart from cracked lips. It fucked up my intestines so bad that for a year after I couldn't go anywhere without fearing my stomach would collapse on me. Also a ton of other side effects and I was pretty much suicidal..

Maybe some people are so weak they should just die.

>And If a 'miracle cure' means a cure then finasteride is indeed a miracle cure

Finasteride is by no means a cure. It mostly just prevents the inevitable.

Maintenance is still a good thing.

Once the hair is stable, you can always get a HT from a top of the line surgeon unless you are a pathetic poorfag.

Remember to take blood tests before fin, after 3 months of fin and after 6, 12 months of fin use.

Take DHT tests, estradiol, testosterone, SHBG

DHT has to drop extremely low. If it isn't low enough, add dutasteride and then take the tests again. DHT is what determines if you will be bald or not.

Eventho fin increases testostherone, DHT is much more potent androgen.

I won't touch fin anymore, degreased libido was enough for me.

dht may more 'potent' but it only seems to serve any real function in DEVELOPING males
