I promised an anon I'd make this thread for him a long time ago.

When the Flecktarn parka arrived it fit me perfectly but it was too long for my taste it fit just a bit above the knee
I cut down the length as far as I could to just below the pockets so now the pockets look a bit odd

I remember when camo was super in like two years ago and everyone plus their mothers were wearing those fucking bw flecktarn combat shirts because they literally cost one euro at the surplus store.
I've just now finished removing the German flag patches so they won't dye black with the jacket

For a full cycle so about an hour and after that do a normal wash with detergent to get rid of excess dye left in it
So results are in familia
Its easily noticeable that it did dye but I'm not entirely satisfied and will retry dying it with a hand dye when I can

I thought of that beforehand but bleach would have ruined the fabric's something something not allowing the dye to stay permanently onto it and to add onto to the bleach would have made it significantly easier to rip

its pretty easy. just google it. ive taught myself by reading a few instructions and picking up a sewing kit in my schools bookstore. all ive done so far is a bit of darning, which impressed everyone, but is actually pretty easy.

Dying doesn't work that way sadly.
i would say dye it in a bucket, one with a lid, then leave it chilling in the bucket for a long ass time if you want it really dark.

You are retarded. Read the fucking label on the shit you bought. It's not a dye it's a washing powder that refreshes your faded colours. What you want to get is Dylon washing machine dye sold in small boxes. Buy two of them and use them to dye your parka. It will dye to perfect black. Next time read the fucking labels.
I actually bought one of these not to long ago because I found it for $25 shipped. It is really nice and fits great. The fabric is nice.
I was thinking about dying it originally but after seeing all the sort of failed attempts by other people I might just leave it. Even that one on grailed that got dyed 4 times still has a tiny bit of camo visible.
I was thinking about looking around to see what fabric paints were good, Never messed around with that stuff before, but I'd rather turn it some color other than black.
I took mine to dry cleaning shop who dyed it professionally. Those off-the-shelf dyes you buy in a store are crap and just wash out or turn purple especially if it's black.
You can only see the original pattern if you look very closely or shine a bright light on it. Some of the stitching (which is polyester) turned brown but hardly noticeable.

Bought the parka, threw it once in the washing machine 40 degrees celsius with one pack of Dylon velvet black and then another run without any dye
