I dont know much about your wardrobe but going off his fit id say look more into functional techwear find out about breathability and shit since im guessing you are from somewhere hot, knowing your fabrics will give you a bit more freedom them pants and a t. As a general (but not blanket) rule, don't mix black and navy. Same for black and darker Browns. In general blue, brown and other earth tones work well together, and then black, grey and other desaturated colors. Reds and greens kinda mix between either depending on shade.
This is very brief and general and only rough guidelines. The sticky has some pretty good info on color theory I think.

Looked up a few articles on color matching and read the sticky too. There are a lot of mixed opinions on black/navy, black/brown some say it's a don't and some say go ahead. I guess what does not work well in my case is the coat. But since I stay inside most of the time and most people are unaware of color matching anyways, it's simple to get away with it.
