The middle is still nice.
Regent street, Knights bridge and Kensington are good areas for high end clothes shopping. But you will find stuff everywhere. go for a wander. I know there is(or was) a Dick Ovens store in mayfair too if youre into that sort of thing.

I haven't been to the one in NYC but from what I've seen all DSMs should be pretty awesome to visit.
Lots and lots of great designers/brands and great presentation.
Just be ready for your wallet to feel the pain lol
