Okay, first of all, I'd like to say that I'm not a 'fuccboi' – I don't own a single piece of Suprame clothes. I have a couple of friends who are really into Suprame and other street wear, so what little I know of y'all's... 'culture' comes from them. So anyway, last night, one of my pals who is into street wear confronts me out of nowhere and says "ayy, you wanna help me try'n 'cop' the 'bogo' tomorrow?" "What do I need to do?" I asked him. He gave me the instructions (he wanted a woodland camo crew neck sweatshirt) and his shipping and credit card info and specifically told me: "exactly at 11 o'clock!" We later made plans with a couple other buds to hang out around that time, so we were physically together when the new clothes were about to be restocked. By 10:55 we both had our laptops out and were ready to go; he'd double and triple-checked my Chrome autofill settings, made sure his credit card number was properly on my clipboard, et cetera. Oh, but I was still sorely unprepared for the madness that would ensue in the next five minutes. By 10:58, he was already refreshing like a madman. I could not believe the obsession I was witnessing in front of me; I had never seen anyone acting like he did. It was absurd and honestly, a little bit frustrating to see someone acting so impulsively about something, especially fucking Suprame clothing!! I was slowly losing respect for the guy — he looked more animal than man, hunched over his keyboard, his fingers rapidly and repeatedly pressing the keys: Ctrl+R... Ctrl+R... Ctrl+R... over and over again. It was so fucking stupid, and I was wondering if he actually expecting me to be doing the same. I started refreshing a few seconds after 10:59, although not with the vigor that he was. I wouldn't stoop to a level that low.
I was already worried, though. I didn't think I'd be able to buy the sweatshirt in time, and honestly, I didn't want to. I didn't want to feed into my friend's apparent lust for a stupid overpriced piece of clothing. It couldn't be healthy for him to be so obsessed with it. It just can't be good for anyone to be so completely transformed by a need for an inanimate object. He was being way too fucking stupid, and I couldn't take it anymore. The clock turned to 11, and I immediately followed his instructions. I got to the sweatshirt, chose the size (large) and the color (woodland camo), and clicked "add to cart." I began the checkout process. I got his information in via autofill and I got his credit card number in. And before I'd even put in the CVV, he said it was too late. He'd already finished checking out. And they were already out of stock. Oh, okay I thought, whatever, who the fuck cares anyway? Oh, man, did my buddy care. He started screaming, yelling about how many times he'd tried to 'cop' the 'bogo' and failed, how he didn't want to pay the marked up prices online, etc. But for real, who the fuck cares? Nobody outside of the street wear circles even thinks this shitty clothing looks good. Whenever they see a cap or a shirt that says "Suprame" on one of you skinny, 110 pound, pasty white kids, they just think you're an autist who thinks spending outrageous amounts of money on clothing is acceptable. Why? BECAUSE YOU ALL HAVE SOME FUCKING UNHEALTHY OBESESSION WITH UGLY-ASS CLOTHING Is all of it ugly? No, some if it is pretty nice. But the fucking box logo shit. Why? Why do those even exist. They are the single biggest waste of money in all existence.
