It's easy to get in a slump with hair & keep the shit the same for a long time. Then, it's hard to change it, 'cause it feels like it's an essential part of your or like a signature thing.

So I'm doing no poo for about a month now and I can't really see any progress
I shower daily and always wash my hair with water, haven't used shampoo a single time since I started, I slightly toweldry it when I get out of the shower and let the rest just dry off by itself.
The problem is, my hair is still "thin" flat and lacks texture, I'm also using gel daily to give it at least some volume and texture.
What am I doing wrong?

Finally found a really nice barber who understands how each person's hair grows differently and he did a really good job of cutting a simple cut that suits my face shape. I can't find any real flaws. And he told me that I wasn't actually balding, and spent about 10 minutes fully explaining a maturing hairline. Felt great after getting my hair cut for once

comb it wet in one direction, get it nice and slicked out. after it's sort of plastered, comb it the other direction , deep from the roots and a couples inches out, and then sort of whip the comb out of your hair in a fluid motion. Let it dry and play with it minimally and it should come out sort of like this without even needs product as long as your hair isn't stick straight.
The main deal is the whipping motion a few inches off the scalp. That keeps the first few inches of hair combed and neat and the rest of it with a kind of windblown look.
