You're most likely not going to find great fitting pants at the thrift store, sure. With a little bit of work you can make practically anything that is oversized, smaller and therefore better fitting. Seriously, some of my favorite pants are $2 croft and barrow black pants that I brought in and/or hemmed a little bit. Don't be fooled.

you can take a gold test kit and scrape all of the "costume jewelry" at your thrift store and buy a car at the end of the day if you can find a smelter and spend at least 6 hours digging
