The Libertarians/Conservatives I know usually don't wear glasses that are too showy. A good example is Mark Rutte (classical liberalism/libertarian). Very modest, formal, business like, unironic, practical frames.
Same goes for modern day neocons.
The older libertarians and conservatives from the 70's and 80's however did have thick frames. Just look for Thomas Sowell and Milton Friedman on google for good examples. I guess that was the more modest, formal, business look back in those days (like Patrick Bateman in American Psycho in the 80's).
