i started very short (almost buzzcut) and trimmed it regularly and kept it about chin length for a few years. i stopped getting trims and have been letting it grow for about a year now. probably gonna get a trim soon bc i like this length. my advice is to make sure you wash your hair in moderation (i find no poo is too greasy and shampooing every day dries your hair out so find a medium that works for you). good luck man.

ah, i get the greasy patches too. maybe shampooing every other day is a better idea, i was going under the assumption that your hair was dry and not just frizzy. flat ironing is probably the best thing for helping frizz, but another thing ive noticed that helped my frizz was just cutting my hair off. it grows back looking better, and short hair is a lot easier to flat iron.

You can commit to 'no poo' if you refrain from silicon based styling products.
If you use silicon based products or hairspray, use a shampoo once a week to break down buildup. Ugly truth is those products build a coating which seals in moisture short term, but when built up prevent moisture from entering the hair, including sebum.

You could try some olive oil based hair products, ORS makes a good olive oil conditioner that rinses out. It comes in plain green and citrus. I prefer the citrus, it is more lightweight.

The blowdryer can frizz hair in weird directions if a round brush or diffuser is not used. Perhaps try a diffuser, low air flow, medium to high heat.

You should try Redken all soft conditioner or Feria moisturizing treatment. Try using a boar bristle brush to brush your hair back from your face.
Do not wax your eyebrows. However trim them, either yourself or by a professional. Comb the hairs completely up, wet if needed, and trim the hairs that stick out the furthest. Use caution. Comb back into place. Rarely does the bottom eyebrow need trimming.
