What do you think about Men boots?.

I personally don't like boots but my father says boots look cool and fashion

I used to be into the whole menswear 'Wool cardigan, blue raw demin, brown boots' look when I first came to /fa/ but then I developed my own style and god do I hate it now.

It looks kinda cool in inspo pics but it's pretty hard to actually pull off and you end up looking like someone from MFA. And personally I just kinda moved away from overkill masculinity in my outfits. Lumberjack-tier shit is overrated.

>>10660408
Please don't.

I mean, they're okay, but I'm not a fan of the stitching, the leather looks cheap, and the extra details are just... bad. I guess your pant leg would cover them, but it feels weird that you even HAVE to hide them.

Normies won't notice these details and generally buy boots like this anyway, though, so it's probably fine if you really like them, I personally just strive for better than appeasing normies.

Construction workers sploosh over red wings. They are the cream of steel toed workboots.

Can't say anything about their other boots though.
>>
>>10660278
I find Beckman to be better but Red Wings are definetely "ultimate-workware". I got Beckmanns because of sole. IR sole is good, but you can't wear theme when it's wet or snowing. You will glide with their soles.

>>
what winter boots go with blue jeans?
>>
>>10660436
i started with that specific menswear look a long time ago, eventually moved on to higher end designers and streetwear, and after many years have found myself moving back to a similar workwear aesthetic, albeit inspired by high end designers still. some days i'm wearing ro, vis, and j crew all in the same outfit. came full circle after all this time.

this is to say that every style has something to bring to the table, and personal style comes from taking aspects you like from everywhere and making it your own.
>>
>>10661290
Same, I like Red Wings but I don't think any of them have a decent sole for winter except Moc Toes maybe

>>
>>10661357

typically iron rangers have a leather sole. comfy as hell after it breaks in, but it will eventually wear down from the outside in and you'll have to get the entire boot resoled, which usually costs about $100, plus or minus depending on your location and your local cobblers.

beckmans typically come with a leather sole that has been overlayed with vibram or other rubber lug/half-sole systems that provide superior traction and also wear down more slowly. you do eventually have to replace vibran soles as well, but generally not as often as leather soles.

you could also just take your IRs to a cobbler and have a half-sole and heel taps attached to protect the leather sole, and then you basically have a beckman sole.

Nowhere to find boots that aren't work boots around here. Made the mistake of picking up at a thrift store because they're a little small, I was just excited about finding boots I could actually wear. I've given up.
>>
>>10661736
Get dress boots then, Allen Edmond Daltons. Or are you that much of a cheap fuck? Most of the boots posted in this thread aren't qualified as work boots by today standard. They're all considered fashion boots. And yes, that also include the iron rangers. If you don't like any of those, then get combat boots.
>>
>>10661855
I wasn't commenting about any of the boots posted in this thread. I was stating that there is no place to get boots that aren't work boots in my area. I am not willing to order boots online either, if I didnt like them it would just be a giant waste of time and money.

Any ideas of a better quality boot with a similar look? Maybe without the ugly sole
>>
>>10661357
I dont think anyone has explained this yet, not that ive seen, so I'll give it a go, since I own both the iron rangers and the beckman. the iron rangers have a cork outsole, which isnt ideal if your going to be in wet weather or snow. ts not necesarily a bad sole, its just pretty hard and can be slick. the beckman has more of a low profile, lug sole, which has better grip. its def a better sole, but its also why the beckman is like 50 dollars more than the iron ranger. that, and the leather is of slightly better quality. The blacksmith is like a hybrid between the IR and beckman. it has the upper of the beckman but the IR cork outsole.

don't buy leather boots for snow because you'll have to wax them constantly to keep them waterproof and you'll never even manage to make them 100% water tight. Buy something with Goretex or similar. I recommend Meindl. I've been using pic related for the past few months of outdoors field work on Svalbard and I couldn't be happier with them.

Actually grandpa most boot companies have been treating and oiling the leather to make boots water resistant since 1990 hence the reason they all have a little tag that says "waterproof" on the side

The majority of leather boots don't even have a seal between the tongue and rest of the boot.
>>
>>10667698
yeah well most of us are in the city and not doing field work in bumfuck nowhere so it doesn't matter

even if you step in snow up to the tongue, you'd have to wait for it to melt until it was a problem. so unless you are spending all day in ankle deep water that's not an issue. I'm not the original guy you quoted but I've been just fine living in the snow for the past few years with just docs

Cons: People realize after a little bit that you're a manlet without the boots and only wear them to gain an extra inch or two

your call mate, personally I would go with brown or rust, they seem the most versatile

Rust was my first choice. Tan just looked different, although I feel that I may regret it.

I'll order Rust for Saturday. Getting that and a Barbour jacket. It'll be like Christmas on Saturday.

I know this is bait but I feel compelled to state that most running shoes, or any sort of dress shoe have about the same height.
>>
I was looking for a boot for the longest time until I had an epiphany about footwear. I will never be happy with any shoe or boot that uses a last not shaped like a human foot. No amount of discomfort, poor health, and loss of mobility/functionality would make we want to wear a designer shoe.

they are frye boots at $280

any other suggestions for similar boots with small sizes and sleek silhouette?

>>
>>10676669
no i dont think so
pic related is the description.

i don't plan to do anything rough or damaging to the boot it'll be for causal wear at school. the bottom has a lug sole too.

do you think they will survive winter without being goodyear welt

i dont really like the color or look of the ir :/
>>
>>10662691
looks like he snatched them from that pile of shoes at auschwitz
>>
>>10676719
$280 frye and you're not getting much boots out of your money
>no country of origin
>weak stitching (single stitches)
>no good year welt (ensures longevity and ease of repair)
>not vibram sole (the best sole you can get)

For winter you want to get lug soles. Just get the iron rangers and go to a cobbler to put on half soles which probably cost around $30 or so. You get a pair of boots that will be good for life. However, I think lug soles look tacky personally.

If you really don't like the red wing, your last option is Doc Martens. They have good year welt and excellent lug soles. The downside is that you'll look like every other person from tumblr.

This is utterly disgusting and should be illegal. I understand why muslims treat women like property now. You cunts taste a little freedom, have weak men fear you, use them as this sort of human footrest/podium for feminist delusions... Next thing you know, this pic happens.

How much will general wear and the sun lighten them up? Pic related is how they look online. Real life is like super dark brown, almost black.

thats the walmart ofbrand sneaker company in the world of boots. If you dont care about quality get 5.11. they're shit but look kinda cool. if you care about quality at a low price get reebok or (and i say this grudgingly) nike. they wont fall apart with everyday use and have good reviews

if you want to look nigrich and get some gucci af boots get danners or corcorans

Guys, help, I think i might have fucked up, I just oiled my boots and they went from being a light brown with some really cool patina on them to being really fucking dark brown like almost black with zero patina at all. All I wanted to do was moisturize and protect them, now I think I might have fucked up.

Will wearing them ever restore the original color / texture, or are they permanently stained?
>>
>>10666048
nice meme
>>
>>10677328
you're not supposed to use motor oil anon
>>
>>10677328
If you used mink oil or another approved oil, the dark coloring you see will gradually fade as it's absorbed into the leather. After a couple weeks or so of regular use in elements they should return to their normal color, provided they aren't shit you got from asos.
>>
>>10677328
>Will wearing them ever restore the original color / texture, or are they permanently stained?
Yes. Most oils and waxes gradually fade from wear and absorption.
>>

I just used Dr. Marten's Wonder Balsam, which is what their dumb website recommended for THEIR boots with no warning on the color change.

Always liked wedge soles, unfortunately they get dirty and don't clean up. I don't mind getting them dirty, seeing as I actually work in them sometimes, but as you can see they *could* pretty up very nice.

Holy god though, breaking those bastards in broke my feet. Even ~5 months in not quite there yet.
