It's a weird situation. Somehow someone must have managed to obtain a very large number of Raketa parts, seemingly cases and 12 hour movements. They must have then assembled the watches themselves with fakes dials and anything else missing. The 24 hour watches also had to convert the 12 hour movements to run 24 hours, which is why official 24 hour movements are identified by a different number on them. Raketa today, after investors revived the dying company, has openly warned of these fake products before, so that's the story *officially*.
However, there's some scattered evidence from the earlier internet that Raketa, or someone impersonating them, was selling watches with the same designs as these fakes, either the same fakes that are available today, or official watches that the fakes copied. Additionally, Raketa today sells watches with designs clearly derived from these so called fakes (pic related). There's also the question of the sheer number of fakes, and the relative difficulty in converting so many movements, which makes me believe they may have created these "fake" watches themselves in times of hardship, or at least sold similar ones.
In general, it's not recommended to support the shady business practices of those sellers and just find something else cool that you can be confident with.

That's kind of the thing, why would so many of these watches have German military images on them? As I look into it a little more right now, there are suggestions that disgruntled employees taking off with factory parts to do who knows what with, which can explain so many of these watches. Some of them might be original, but the German ones along with all the others listed beside them as brand new are not.
Raketa of course does sell watches today but far more expensive than their former self. Luch has some interesting stuff like the one hander you posted which is a nice mechanical, but otherwise they're more of a shell of their former sell. I personally love Vostok, they're cheap and reliable, and despite being bankrupted are still mostly intact as they originally were. Poljot was another brand that was around until recently, they had some aviation themed watches for a bit more (Pic related). The modern Sturmanskie brand, but no longer a true made in Russia brand, has some Arctic stuff as well.

Vostok Komandirskies and Amphibians are under that, wide range of designs, new or vintage. Some of the vintage Raketas are under that, like the popular "big zero" model. Seiko 5's are popular and hundreds of styles, particularly the black SNK809. Those are all mechanical.
Weekender is fine too, but loud for a quartz. Highly versatile for straps though. Casio has its quartz divers like MDV106, more traditional than any G-Shocks and such, there's some other traditional Casio models too.
Average NATO straps go for around $10, but you can get a bunch of cheapass $2 ones instead and swap them out.
Higher budget opens up a lot more.

You can get quality swiss watches if you buy them second hand. Most brands lose their value as quick as a car. Unless it's Rolex tier and above those tend to keep their value.

I do like the white but I feel like it's too "dressy." I'd feel more comfortable wearing the blue in a more casual environment (doing accounting in the future).

i'd personally say it does look dressier than the blue but i think the patterning and the fact that the date function is moved over really sells it for me, If i saw you wearing that I wouldnt assume you were dressed up, just that you had a more refined taste
