I see dozens of people on the subway wearing headphones and no one gives a fuck unless you are clueless blasting your music wearing open-backed cans (actually saw someone wearing Grados and listening to some awful Hot Topic-core punk music the other day kek)
Obviously not at all at home. I wear them in public only when I'm working in the library or on a plane something. If I'm on public transit or walking on campus I put in ear buds.
Traveling-wise use them. Or just get some in ears.
