Could I wear the attached with a normal charcoal suit to work? Wud it be better to go with more traditional brown or black?

it's not about durability, they will last, but the leather looks like out of a bdsm movie. Buy another chelsea with a non polished leather. If you are going to use it with a charcoal suit, brown will fit it better.
