are these zero drop?
>>
>>10628346
Depends, there is the cork footbed (which molds to your feet) and the soft footbed for a bit of cushion.
Try them on yourself. And please don't fall for the zero drop, minimalist meme. You need support, especially if you walk on concrete.

By the way, my mother is a podiatrist, so I know a lot about what you're looking into. Let me guess, you read this book?
>>
>>10628258
I would love to do this all the time, but Minnesota winters make it impossible. Gotta make do with minimalist shoes and wool socks.
>>
>>10628360
How exactly are heels supportive?
>>
>>10627310
have my feet been cuccked by shoes??
>>
>>10628387
I never said they were. You know you don't have to wear heels just because other girls do.
>>
>>10628410
Most likely.
>>
>>10628360
Nope, I didn't. What's bad about zero drop shoes? I aggree with needing a bit of cushioning and support when walking on concrete but why do the heels need to be higher than the toebox?
>>
>>10628258

>>
>>10628413
Nearly all modern shoes have a raised heel. Women tend to go overboard with heel height, but men's shoes that aren't moccasins or flip flops almost always have a >0 heel-to-toe drop. I don't see a goreasonod for this, other than fashion (which isn't a very good reason at all Imo). Raised heels affect posture and can result in flat, weak feet if worn on a daily basis. Narrow, constricting toe boxes also contribute to this.
I can post some sources for this info if you'd like.
>>
>>10628742
Know any fashionable zero-drop shoes?
What do you wear?
I have some Vivo Barefoots and Vibram Furoshikis (because I'm weird), planning on getting some Otzs. Know any other good brands for this type of thing?
Surely there must be similar brands outside of the barefoot shoe scene.

I'm a big fan of my Soft Stars. This model isn't made anymore, bit they have a nice-looking chukka out right now. These are legitimately the only shoes I've worn that are comfy on my 2E width feet.
Russell Moccasin also does custom minimalist moccasins if you're looking for a more expensive pair.
>>
>>10628791
Oh, and Altra makes good running shoes if you want something that's minimalist but still has some cushion. Sadly I don't have a pair because they only make them in D width.

if you have a fucked flat foot like me, wearing flat shoes is literal cancer. I can't walk longer than an hour in a flat shoe before my knees want to kill me. I used to wear insoles but they constricted my shoe picks so I ditched them. Also I'm too told to really give a shit if my foot is proper or not. Heeled shoes seem to be almost as good as insoles as far as my knees are concerned so that's what I moved towards.
>>
>>10628842
the mexicans at my school still do this lol
>>
>>10628974
The best thing is to not wear shit shoes in the first place, so this doesn't happen. Your feet probably are too far gone at this point.
>>
>>10628974
Also, it's worth mentioning that my feet were getting pretty flat before I started wearing minimal shoes. Now my arches are stronger than ever. Lots of barefooters report this as well, but I don't know if there have been any solid scientific studies done on the matter.
>>
Just use flip-flops then, faggot.
Or flippies with socks on the winter.

This is a product of your sedentary shit lifestyle.

You need to burn all your ergonomic shit and get active. Then it won't matter what your shoes are like at all.

Belleville has created a zero-drop minimal combat boot with a wide toebox in collaboration with Vibram after Vibram Fivefingers proved to be very beloved by military personnel. This could be of interest to all the combat boot loving folk of /fa/.

I tried out a pair of these and wasn't a fan. They seemed really stiff and low-quality. The toe box was also pretty narrow for a 2E "minimalist" design.
>>
>>10628360
"You need support"

Bullshit. I grew up with hippie parents and for my entire young life only wore deerskin mocs with a plain leather sole. Never had any support until i got my first job and bought a pair of nikes. Which i only wore on occassion on account of them hurting my feet.
>>
>>10631472
It seems to me that you only need supportive shoes as an adult if you wore them while your feet were growing as a child.

>>10630850

I am having such a hard time with shoes. They are the one thing that I like to have designer shit, but they are also the one thing that affects health.

My main issue is with narrow toe boxes. All my dress shoes are shit and also have raised heels. I love my CPs but they have a really narrow and long toe, especially with my wide feet. I tried on those birks but they look hideous and my wife agreed (only if I was some cool comfy-core jap).

What is the best compromise of being /fa/ and having good foot health? Need something that is not too expensive. Best thing I found is Nike free. Would love if there was something designer.

>>10631497
Nah, my boyfriend who had flat feet when we met did lots of exercises as a part of his fitness program I made for him to get in shape.

Over three years he went from a size 13 to an 11.5 and has a well developed arch now

Check out otzshoes an dvivobarefoot i'd say, both are not cheap but sometimes have really good designs. For dress shoes look up primal professional (expensiveshit) or maybe you like the vivobarefoot ones.

I too love them. I wish I lived in the US so I wouldn't have to pay enormous shipping costs on top of their proud prices. Pretty much the first effay barefoot shoe brand, can't wait for more of those to appear.
>>
>>10631456
That's sad to hear. Wanted to get some to round off my neofolk look with a healthy pair of combat boots. Looks like I'll have to save up for the Otz Troops boots.

I really wish there was more to choose from.

Those aren't built on a "natural" last. There are a lot of moc makers out there that will build them to your feet, though.
>>
>>10632146
You could try a pair of Corcorans. They have a heel, but they're built on a variation of the munson last which is pretty anatomic.
>>
Huaraches and kung-fu dojo shoes fit the bill I'd say. Although both are not very suitable for winter. Still, they're usually zero drop with a flexible upper that allows feet to move freely.
