It's simple, if you're buying them for fashion, don't. If you live somewhere rural or what a sturdy pair of boots to last a long time, it's a good call. I bought a pair a year ago, I wear them nearly every day and they've shown little sight of wear, though they do seem to slightly dye my socks a tan color. They type with no insulation only seems to be good for around -10C
