Stupid /diy/ shit you've done?
>building a small portable speaker
>it's been a while since doing anything diy
>sperging out on the hot glue
>stick 3 18650s in there for muh battery life
>now it's too fucking big
Need to go home and undo it all.
Pic related.
This is how big I was hoping it would be.
Small lichtenberg figures and rebuilding my tesla coil. Can post some pics if people are interested

How is that stupid? Looks pretty cool imo
>>996295
Oh lol i read it wrong nvm

Paint the leaves pink and you'll have a great Japanese Sakura.
>Making this little plotter from cd drives
>Finally get two cd drives
>Neither of them have stepper motors
>>996306
floppy drives have stepper motors, would they work? I can go to literally any pc recycler/scrapper and get a fuckton of them for nothing
>>996403
I live in the middle of nowhere, been to all the scrap yards, the only computer repair place here wanted $15 for a broken IDE drive. Got the two while I was out of town
>>996294
pls post
>>996411
not even ebay, brah?
>>996411
well shit nigga
I'd be willing to ship you some for the cost of postage if you're in the lower 48
>>996294
Well i dont have much old pics of my coil but i still have this one! Will make some more pics today of my new build. Anyway this is a medium desktop spark gap tesla coil powered by a 5000V 15mA neon sign transformer. It works like a charm and makes sparks of max 15 cm. Dont like the way it is build tho so im rebuilding the entire thing.
>>996294
Mi up some glow in the dark powder and epoxy, and fill in the depressions.
lichtenberg figures leave depressions, right?
>>996463
Depends, this one does but it doesnt have to leave depressions
>>996284
that is the ugliest thing i ever seen man. i would be ashamed to post that picture..
Nigga rigged a 5.2V 30 watt vaporiser out of Tupperware and a 8.4V 200 watt out of an old laptop charger case. Both for under. 5 bucks each. They both work amazingly well but some of the material isn't exactly lung friendly
>>996592
Here's the 200 watt
>>996284
You order double 18650 battery holders for about $2. With better cable management with spatial awareness in mind you could easily scale it down to reasonable dimensions. Those 18650s look like a firebomb waiting to happen.
>>996592
At least replace that plastic cap you have on top with something metal. Hot plastic is really horrible for you to inhale.
>>996596
Yeah I won't even consider using them outside a few tests until i source some suitable material for the top atomizer.
>>996592
>those AAs
You will literally explode the batteries at the amperage required. Even a 1 ohm coil would attempt to draw 5 amps, which is going to drop like half your voltage AND FUCKING POWER through the double AAs.
I literally know this from personal experience, having tried AAs to draw even 1-2 amps.
The 200W makes more sense, but even then, those look like generic batteries normally used in lower wattage cigs. Do not trust them.
>>996605
The enelope pros are rated at 6amps maximum safe discharge compared the the regular 1.5 from normal AAs I literally waited in shop to call the supplier to double check before purchasing them. the Samsung 18650s are on the lower end of the normal vaporizer batterys with a 20 amp safe discharge and even then I'm not pushing the maximum draw on either vape.
>>996614
Something worth mentioning as well, you have no short circuit protection. That's probably something that would only need a few powertrench fets or some shit.
>>996594
>that nigger nail
i can deal with your skin color no probs, but cut that nails off, you fucking disgusting piece of shit
>>996666
Rightio mate that thumb nail is the only long nail I have and I use it all the time to thumb screw, strip wires and scratch the back walls of your mothers abyss.
>>996704
You can clearly see your disgusting nails in the picture.
Also you have clubbed fingernails, that is usually caused by long term liver function problems, or cancers of different types.
I would go and get checked out at your doctor, he will be the first to tell you that smoking out of plastic is a retarded idea.
>>996592
Just kill yourself, that might be easier than homebrew vaping
>>996614
>intentionally buying the chinese made eneloops instead of the japanese ones.
>Chair kept lowering slowly
Also bolted a pillow to it and put a car seat cover over it.
>>996907
2 tek screws would have worked just fine anon
>>996911
You know the center columns are frequently oil filled and pressurized right?
Even the pneumatic ones would be dangerous as they're meant to handle some 200+ lb ass.
>>996284
>look at pic
>read post
>muh
i hope it blows up in your pants
>>996592
Christ, there's a line where you should have committed suicide and I think you may have been born on the wrong side.
>>996907
Also the arm that was used to lower it could be pulled out half way and the chair would fall back about 20 degrees (it'd slide out occasionally and you'd lean back and shit your pants when it went back much further than you were expecting), and I replaced the wheels because they were so full of my girlfriends hair that it drove the wheels off the axle.
It's an old chair and I could have bought a new one but they all seem to have the same failure points.
>>996990
*Put a bolt through that arm that could slide out of place, to fix it.
>>996294
That's fucking dope. I want. You should sell them.
>>996922
That reminded me of th exploding office chairs
>>996592

>nigger
I'm building some planter boxes out of pallets to house the crazy amount of vegetable seedlings I get for free. Nothing stupid about it, but I realised after building pic-related that I took the wrong pallets. They don't belong to the guy who gave them to me... i picked them up from the wrong place and was wondering why he'd give them away when they were in near perfect condition. Whoops!
>>996294
How and why should i make a tesla coil
>>997450
Are you going to treat the pallets? I mean, something to prevent them from rotting. I was planning a composter out of pallets (I can get some food grade pallets, for free) but I have my concern about them not lasting very long outside.
>>996907
why not just drill through the tube and stick a pin through it
>>997527
>Are you going to treat the pallets? I mean, something to prevent them from rotting
The wood will last a couple years. I have planters made out of crap wood going on 5 years now of constant contact with moist soil. It's pallet wood. He could burn the thing at the end of the season and start again new next.
>>997527
>>997599
I'm going to slather them in some outdoor high-gloss acrylic paint today if the weather holds out. Otherwise I'm lining the insides with plastic sheeting to stop anything nasty in the wood from leeching into the soil.
They'll be fine. Even if they turn to crap in a couple of years, they're costing me nothing aside from time and effort
