Hello, I have a data recorder that my work uses on a weekly basis, and I need to convert the recording media (floppy) to ANYTHING more modern. USB drive, SD or CF preferred. Anyhow, what am I looking for to replace the floppy drive? I've googled floppy drive emulation board, floppy to USB, floppy to SD, etc. Nothing that plugs into a typical ide connector and converts to new all digital data.

Any ideas? Will post some pics.

Also, it records SKU information, backs it up, and transfers info from scale to scale. Is it possible that this recorder just writes data like a computer, meaning any number of various ide adapters will work?

Here's a picture of the absolutely retarded custom cable connector they designed for it. They called it modnet, it's just a long flat cat5 or cat6. Also has rs232, not really clear on how that works though.

We just replaced all the floppy drives in our haas cncs with usb drives. Its a common conversion in the cnc world. Plugs right into the floppy cable and emulates a drive. Works great! Too bad i cant remember what they're called. Try googling....

Please, PLEASE tell me what they're called. That's exactly what I need. Just a board with a male ide connector to USB or whatever.

You're welcome. Be aware that there are a few different types of these emulators. Do some research before you buy one.
