For me it's overhead storage, lofts, textile, plants (climbers), dark wood, muted shades, exposed ceiling joists, stained glass, windows with crossbars, dividing larger rooms into sections with screens and maybe most importantly low, warm light from lots of spread out sources.

Many of those tiny houses people make are pretty cozy since a lot of it is custombuilt. "Kirsten Dirksen" on youtube if you can power through all the hipsterism.
