Does any place have this in stock in the US? (at or about the stated $5 price)
Or does anyone have any idea when these might be more available?
1. Wait until the initial hype dies down
2. Buy from your favorite place

Its been a few months. Was just checking back in.
You can get $5 bills at any bank, anon.
Call me dumb if you must but I don't know what that is... but I would like to know...

Pi Zero.
It's a '$5' raspberry Pi, that given hype and limited supply, + supporting hardware required ends up being one of the most expensive ones you could buy.

I got two (UK here) and you really don't need that much to get them going.
The only real cost (if you don't have them) are a OTG cable and a HDMI mini to normal adapter.
I have e-mail alerts from the UK companies and whenever there is an alert they are sold out within a hour lol.
I got two C4Labs cases for them, love the little fucker.

A thumb drive? A keyboard? A monitor/tv? A $1 OTG cable? A $2.50 hdmi mini cable?

"choose one"
I've read that the RPi Foundation isn't expecting widespread availability until about mid-year. I have a feeling that they're intentionally hindering production in order to hype it up. In fact my local RS site doesn't even have it listed yet.
There is a rumour out there that they're about to release the RPi 3 in the near future though so keep an eye out for that.
