I ground out a knife from a worn out planer blade.
Did I leave enough tang?

yep

NOT ENOUGH
it looks pretty thin to me, do another one with the hole closer to the tip of the blade like pic related
please forgive my horrible shoop skillz, i is old

Do not want.

And btw yes the hole isn't ideal for strength, but these planer blades have holes all over them so I couldn't completely avoid them. But this is for a qt3.14 carving knife so strength doesn't matter much.

Looks pretty good to me. You won't be able to take it into battle but its strength should suit its function. Pic related is an X-ray image of a high-quality swedish carving knife.

Correct, well done. I would have done a scandi rather than a chisel grind, but both are good for woodworking.

The blade is beveled on both sides. I really don't like how hard it is to keep a chisel grind tracking straight through material.
