My telephone extension stopped working.
When I tested the extension, there was no resistance between any of the 4 wires.
I can understand 2 wires shorting, but all 4? How the fuck does that even happen?

If it's plugged into your handset/base that should be pretty low resistnce, just the speaker.

do you know how to use a multimeter properly?
a big nail or screw could have done it, staple +worn insulation it possible.
your cable doesn't run through a piranha tank or anything?
