Any of you fine gents ever install a gas fireplace? I moved into a new place with one installed but I'll be damned if I can find the spot where you put the key to turn it on. I thought some previous owner may have just covered it up so I ripped the old tiles off but there is no valve. It wouldnt be inside the box or something silly like that would it? That switch on the left starts a little fan inside, presumably for windy nights with possible backdraft.

One house I lived in had it on the same wall as the fireplace,
Another house had it on the floor in front of the fire place
In the basement fireplace it was on the hearth stoop

In my last apartment it was tied to a light switch.

Lol it's part of a remodel anyways, got new slate tiles to replace the shitty old red marble. The whole thing is held up on finding that valve though. I guess I can check all nearby switches
