Remember me? Had to wait 3 weeks for a part to fix the MIG rig, but progress is going on my firepit again. Pieces cut with hand plasma cutter, 1/8" hot roll steel, lots of angle grinding.
Before the first seam welds.
nice, what is it going to be?

That's some good fit up with hand cutting, can't wait to see it completed.

A firepit with expanded metal inset, designs cut into the sides, and an Eye of Sauron topper. It is upside down right now. Work is taking me 10 times longer than I expected at the start. Working off a 4' x 8' x 1/8" sheet of hot roll steel.

Appreciate the compliment. First time working extensively with metal. Just lucky we have lots of tools at work and my boss is ok with me using them. Not really sure this fill weld and grind down technique is right, but I couldn't think of a better way to get it all together and looking nice.

>4' x 8' x 1/8" sheet of hot roll steel
how much was that in your area?

It's the "I can't cut/set my pieces precisely" option
