This has been bothering me for way too fucking long. You see this megaman light capsule? I've been trying to figure what exactly is projecting Dr. Light onto the glass.
I would assume it is either a hacked pico projector with a rapsberry pi, smart phone or some sort of LCD screen projected with a backlight given its 6" by 6" size, but the form factor is really throwing me off.
At this point, I'm not entirely sure if this entire thing is just video magic since the hologram looks really crisp and the top seems to be too small if it was a smartphone.
Anyways, what are your guy's thoughts on this?

Not sure, but it might have some small beamer in the top above the glass to project the pictures.

It's just some shitty lcd screen, maybe with a magnifying optic in front.
Probably an arduino.

Where would one get such a medium sized square screen and a magnifying optic to go with it?

I saw the blog of the guy who built that years ago.
IIRC, it was one of those cheap lcd picture keychains.
One of these: https://www.amazon.com/Coby-DP151WHT-1-5-Inch-Digital-Keychain/dp/B000R9BMVU

Interesting. Did he ever mentioned how he projected the image?

It's Pepper's Ghost Illusion.
The LCD screen is backlit and sits in the base, above it there's a piece of glass angled at 30˚-45˚.

Interesting.
I didn't know that holograms were so ancient.

*Spoiler Alert*
This is how the Haunted Mansion at Disney works. When you get to the ball room it's all holographic projection.
