Pixiv animations are a weird format called ugoira, where it's basically an archive of images that the site plays in sequence. The traditional saving method will only get you a single frame of the animation. You can either find something that'll allow you to save the whole archive then find a program to convert it into a gif/webm, or you can find a browser addon or website that will directly grab a gif/webm from the site.

Duolingo is great for most languages, but sadly Duolingo has no Japanese option yet. There are daily Japanese threads on /a/ which have plenty of resources. Anki decks are very very useful and I highly recommend those. If you have an Android phone, look for an app called Obenkyou which is similar to Anki, but is more geared towards learning Japanese than general flash cards, plus it allows you to answer questions by entering in the character with a kana keyboard-like input or by drawing the characters as optional quizzes.
