As of 1.07, it calculates their age based on their given birthdate, not a number gibven by a developer. So it doesn't matter how young they are - I've been doing it for a while.

I'm currently working on Tainted Elysium: Redux (working title) and I am having a hell of a time figuring out what the fuck the character update math is supposed to be doing. There's 400 lines of extremely dense math for calculating character weight, fatness, bloatedness, and other things. Since Flash stripped all comments, I don't have the benefit of seeing Atticus' thought process and notes, either.

What I'm trying to do is split this up into their own classes so its not so dense and to take advantage of OOP. For instance, all the stuff for calculating arm fat would go into the Arm class Life() function, all the stuff for character weight would go into the Creature class. I like to also rename and document the variables while I go as to make sense of the code.

However, some stuff doesn't work properly when ported to OOP and needs to be changed. For instance, instead of a global variable just tracking how many arms we have, we now have discrete Arm objects attached to the Creature, which requires different logic. This is why I need to understand the code.

Free Cities alpha 0.6.11 up at freecitiesblog dot blogspot dot com, "People Skills." This is a smaller update with a lot of less-visible updates: balance, bugfixes, code revisions and that kind of stuff. The major additions are a couple of lategame relationship statuses: Emotional Slut and Emotionally Bonded [to the Master/Mistress]. I wasn't happy with the way getting married to another slave had become a default lategame status, so highly devoted and trusting slaves now have these two alternatives if they're still single. Emotional Sluts don't have time for any of that relationship shit, and do well on public sexual assignments. Emotionally Bonded slaves on the other hand don't want to be with anyone - except the PC. Forever. They do well on private sexual assignments. Also Reputation should be less brutal now, since I rebalanced the decay and made the rep bonuses for keeping slaves with perfect devotion/trust much higher.

I should have known that my stating that I read these threads would be misinterpreted as encouragement to post bug reports here in /dgg/ like it was my blog or something. Have you considered other "private" assignments for slaves, perhaps adding more benefits to servant assignments? As it is now I don't use sexual servitude at all and I feel like, in comparison to whoring and public use, there's not a lot of benefit to maids and the like.

That's more due to the fact that BG scenes don't account for amputee content because an amputee can't be assigned to the BG position, but a player can still operate on and amputate the BG. What needs to happen is some sort of a check, either before the operation asking the player if the player wants to amputate even though it will prevent the slave from performing her duties, and/or after that will actually remove amputees from their prior assignments.

A similar things happens to muscular amputees who are set to build muscle before the operation - they will slowly lose muscle mass due to being amputees, but they'll continue working out and gain muscle, effectively "floating" at whatever muscle state they had before the amputation. I actually like this bug, because it allows amputees to have unusually large breasts without suffering devotion or health loss, and would like for amputees to gain muscle in a systematic (non-bugged) fashion.

Ah, you're in for a load of fun then. I have a disorder called dyscalculia, and thus have a pretty hard time with math and organization, so all that math you're seeing is me trying to convert the mass of the entities limbs, stomach, breast or other part and converting it into a measurement.

It was written a very long time ago and more than likely is less than 25% accurate lol. So, all you people who can comprehend math, it'll be painful but I basically take the material weight divided by its density, convert mass to volume, then convert volume to a ratio and then a get the measurement of it's area. For waist circumference or other such things.

Here's a list of those variables and what their purpose is, mind you, these are all probably less logical than most other areas of my code as they're all from pretty early in the development cycle.

>MtoV is the volume conversion
>VtoR is the ratio conversion
>RtoA is the area conversion

What you should do is only convert or round things when needed, since such operations are actually pretty easy for the computer to do, especially since we're in a text game, which is very light-weight, CPU-wise. I don't understand how people can be so fucking retarded as to not understand what "gameplay" is. Are you twelve years old? Is English a second language to you? There is no fucking "gameplay" associated with keeping track of lineage. I'm not even sure how one would CREATE gameplay based on tracking lineage, least of all in a turn-based game.

You know what interferes with gameplay? Arbitrarily making it more difficult for the player to track what's happening in the game. Unless there is some specific reason to withhold information from the player, all relevant information should be presented to the player when it's needed.

Looking at BS specifically, then in theory what should be going on is
1) Incest is prima-facie the best strategy because it gives the player more of their best stock
2) Gremlins are the nerf to incest because they reduce the profitability of incest, increasing the cost of investment to match the high potential gains.
3) Players are then faced with the decision to roll the dice on continuing their premium stock or taking a guaranteed child of lesser (average) stock.

The gameplay is entirely in the evaluation of the risk/reward of incest. Obscuring the fact that the player will be mating an incestuous pair just forces players to take tedious actions of checking their notes. Since the game doesn't keep track of players checking their notes or lineages, it's literally fucking pointless tedium for tedium's sake and therefore FUCKING RETARDED DESIGN.

Your comparison goes too far. Interbreeding doesn't mean that your whole farm will explode and all your monsters everywhere will die, like how it'd be with SimCity's "destroy everything" button. I'd rather compare it with demolition of some important highway or other set of facilities in one area of the city because you want to rebuild it a bit differently - it may cause disruption and it may be a bad choice but it certainly may also work out.

Generally, I don't mind a warning and info with interbreeding in BS. It's not an autopilot, just info, a prompt, the same way you can get info or some warning in whatever game - the game still doesn't play itself, you can still do whatever, you are just now more aware of potential shit that may go down due to your actions.

It seems a little implausible that the PC could gain control of a fully fledged arcology so easily, given their starting resources. Starting off with a gated community or something similar would be more realistic. You would essentially just be gaining control of the local home-owners association, in which your decisions are more polite suggestions that are routinely ignored. A massively expanded upgrade tree would then let you turn it into a fully fledged arcology over the course of the game. As your reputation increases, so does your ability to enforce your decisions, much like the current society type system. Rather than the population being relatively static, maybe allow for unlimited addition of commercial and residential buildings so the city can keep expanding. Start off at a few hundred residents, plus several dozen slaves, and grow into a major metropolis.

This could be expanded into a 'tour the city' type activity. Rather than the page of text at the top of the main menu screen, you go go on a brief CYOA style tour of your city and its facilities. This would be heavily influenced by your society type. These sorts of tours could be a use for the ponygirls that were suggested a thread or two ago.

I would like to see the ability to build multiple versions of the same building. It would help to organise the types of slave. It would cut down on micromanaging, so it would give it more of a 'manger of a city' feel, rather than just the manager of a bunch of random girls. The facility should need a head for for this to work.

Okay, good point, but it's still pretty binary the way FCDev implemented it.

Basically, you have to keep a slave's sex drive below 90 (95 to 100 is 'nympho') in order to get the Emotional Bonding effect, but the code looks like if their sex drive goes over 90 later they'll switch to Emotional Slut.

Plus there's only one way to lower sex drive that I know of (smart pircing set to 'no sex) but a bunch of ways to increase it (such as simply being healthy) so it's been my experience that all slaves tend to end up nymphos eventually unless they're specifically made frigid by a smart piercing. There doesn't seem to be a way to strike a middle ground.

That's why I suggested that Fucktoy/Master Suite slaves should get an override to make them Emotionally Bonded.

I meant late game in terms of an individual slave's development. Bad phrasing. The late game in general is planned for around week 100, but you'll certainly miss a ton of content on one 100 week playthrough. Replayability is good.

As stated in the How to Play section, Continue in events is not cheating, it's just the PC telling the personal assitant he/she isn't to be bothered with this shit. I am aware this doesn't make sense for certain events. Custom origins should work, yeah. Kissing, lol, sure. Encyclopedia does need more info, as always. Jewels necklaces?
