Someone was asking for these after some overzealous mod nuked them a thread or two back, and since we're dropping not much to lose from throwing 'em up again.
And this' been sitting on the notepad++ backburner for too damn long:

That depends, when I started there was probably ~10,000 images for about 8 gigs of stuff in my main dump, not including animations and artist packs and real stuff and the like which were actually foldered away, and then I decided to merge a stash of older stuff into the main dump which was another several thousand items and ~5 gigs - but I'd already been using a basic artist prefix system for years and years, so that gave a bit of a head start.
A) A lot of the initial hassle comes from where you first picked up the source, but that's made less troublesome when you remember each source handles filenames differently. DA images include artist names by default, so a few dozen variations of a "_by_x" search with every possible variable will hoover those up; Pixiv uses a 0-8 digit file ID and often a "_p#" suffix, so you can zoom right to that work unless it got nuked; chans use long-ass pure digit names; boorus use longer-ass letter-and-digit combos, often with a "sample_" prefix; and so on and so on. You end up doing several sweeps going after different patterns, cutting it down and down until your initial sort's complete.
B) Then it's finding and wiping out duplicates, which stuff like the Awesome Duplicate Photo Finder is made for and helps especially with thinning out booru and chan grabs. Let it loose on all your initial sort folders with 100% match only for the first run, then clear out those dupes and do another with non-100% matches to handle crops and resizes and the like. Has a hell of a hard time with bundles of images from VNs, though.
C) Then it's the artist/developer and work identification phase. As said, DA stuff already has that so it's a matter of unfucking the file names; Pixiv doesn't so that means backtracking, and in some cases it's easier to do a macro-aided rip of artist galleries than go through every single old image, using ADPF to nuke older dupes later; IQDB lets you backtrace booru and a lot of chan images, and some macros will let you set up a speed-searching system where you can be in and out in seconds flat; SauceNao after IQDB since it's got a ton of pixiv and h-game stuff indexed, though it's not foolproof; and then TinEye and GIS if those fail to turn up anything, though they can be a pain in the ass if you're using Tor since they throw a shitfit about exit node IPs
D) After all that it's tagging, which is just a mind-numbing slog especially if you're going through ~12,000 images like I just did. Luckily I use Irfanview as my main image viewer and it's got a quick and easy re-name function built in, so with that and a shitton of macros I can get a pretty good spread of tags and generally be finished with a pic in 5-10 seconds, possibly longer depending on how weird it is and hard to figure out exactly what's going on - but again, it's a slog and assuming a 10-second average (which is way longer in practice because of trying to remember which fetish a pic's actually showing and taking breaks because you can really only look at porn for so long) that's a minimum of 33.3+ HOURS using the ~12,000 images quoted earlier.
So yeah, it's going to suck as all hell but letting the porn pile snowball is eventually going to drive you crazy, so it's best to just get it over with and then make efforts to sort things as you get it from there on out - I started because my hard drive would literally scream for a minute straight trying to load all the shit I'd just dumped in that one folder, not to mention the issues of finding specific stuff when in a particular mood.

Yeah, you have to hose around with either cookies or proxies in order to get on there. This one works OK-ish, though you occasionally have to cycle through the lot because either the proxy or site itself will get pissy at you for one reason or another.
