As an artist who tries to make his own work match the original style of the original work when doing fanart or commisisons of popular characters. I can understand the core concept of this critique.
"If you're gonna do a mainstream character in a fetish situation. It's not enough JUST to draw them performing the fetish. You have to care enough about the character to adjust your drawing to make it feel like it is THAT character performing the fetish."
Basically, if I wanted to draw someone shy and self conscious like Hinata from Naruto farting in public for a commission. I wouldn't JUST try to capture the original art style, instead of just usng my own. I'd also attempt to make sure she's doing it in character. No "Orgasming in her pants from the relief" expression. That's not her. But more like, "Embarrassed and or worried about how it might bother other people"
Because I want to give the people who like the character, the character that they like. Not just stick their face on the cliche'est parts of the fetish and call it a day.
Though i do find a lot of this nitpicky. Comic sans is an artificial problem to me, but the less said the better.
Everyone has different ways of doing fart effects. I just use blur layers and transparency. Whether you like it or not, it's how the artist likes them.
And as an artist who has to color on several different layers, by freehand instead of fill, because i almost NEVER finished lines. and one who likes hyper farts, and one who likes bigg butts (And i cannot lie.) I resent those last few remarks.
But this is just me.

Been burned as both a drawfag and writefag when it comes to other characters. It's a tricky balancing act because ultimately, there are very few characters who canonically fart etc (yes, we can assume that all humans do, but we're talking about waifus here). So when you depict a character doing something fetishy, it does boil down to well-intentioned guesswork. After all, it could be equally said that Hinata is a fart-fetishist who gets off on it, which is why she is so shy in public, and work from there. Horses for courses ultimately.
Comic sans is more of a comic-font issue. Its kerning is disgustingly bad but you're not doing wordy comics so it doesn't murder your work.

(I took some pretty broadnstrokes myself with that short gassy Zora queen comic. ) But I've seen before, as well as on this very page, how making too broad a stroke can flip the mental swich that says "This isn't them." So I myself try to keep the spirit and designs similar. Not saying that's what you SHOULD DO. I'm saying it's what I always Intend to do.
