An idea I've always found arousing is that the density of a slime is relative, based on the slime's own will and level of focus. Assuming a slime is composed of gelatinous cells with nervous receptors, concentrating a larger amount of these cells around a certain stimulus would mean both greater density and level of stimulation. Not necessarily. Assuming they're still composed of microscopic cells, their membranes could still be invisible to the naked eye. And if we assume the composition of those cells is devoid of pigmentation and/or more aqueous than, say, skin tissue, it can reasonably be assumed that the clear cytosol (or whatever gel occupies the space within the membrane) of those cells would still allow light to pass through.
Of course, since the whole concept of a slime girl defies science anyway, this is all rather moot.

I've thought about this too. I've always thought they have a slightly thicker consistency than liquid soap or body wash.
