However, humans would find feces extremely repulsive because there's never any benefit to eating feces for a human, only potentially fatal health risks. I say "for a human" for a reason. For some animals, eating their own poop is not just beneficial, but necessary. Rats and mice, for example, suck at digesting food and routinely have to "re-digest" their meals to get all the nutrients. And canines will eat their own poop as well as their pups' poop because it helps them avoid attracting predators. So obviously those species wouldn't find poop disgusting like humans do.
