Yet sadly there really isn't that much fiction around that idea. Most fiction (outside of Japanese doujins though those normally do it without chastity play) that approaches that idea tends to just follow whatever pre-established rules "straight" porn movies or "traditional porn literature" dictates so it doesn't deal with the idea of the training positively reinforcing the idea of "becoming a woman/girl" through pleasure (and being denied "manly pleasure" from the dick) but rather by focusing on the sticks using punishment and humilliation to coerce the character in the story into it.

Personally, chastity has always been mostly a fantasy-type fetish (in the sense I like to fantasize about it but not really see myself trying it myself).

You're right that female chastity seems to be somewhat rare. I think a lot of it is that female chastity is less effective at preventing masturbation (since many girls can get off by other means); and is more of a device associated with keeping her faithful.

If you did mean the former, I kinda disagree on the notion that regular stories are more focused on what the writer wants out of them than what the readers want.

That's actually one of the things written stories can do better generally than illustrations/movies.
You show the character's innermost thoughts, mental struggles and views about the world. There is also the literary device of what kind of narrator do you want. Is the character the narrator? Someone else? Someone out of the story?
