do you think they will ever release the old script to the public?

it sound so much more interesting than the underdog story we got in the final movie.
>>
>>84534622
Never unless Rich or Byron try it.
>>
>>84534622

I kinda wish Bellwether won and the sequel could be like the old version.

Perfectly happy endings happen way too often.
>>
>>84534795
maybe they could have a sister city that succeeded

Good.
>>
>>84534622
Why is there so much interest for Edgetopia? Seriously, the premise was shit and made no fucking sense.
>>
>>84536929

first, Byron , Jared, Jossie, Spencer, EVERYONE on the WDAS team, agreed to make a kid's movie with simple... torture device as plot device.

it's amazing on its own, these talented experienced people came up with such disturbing idea.

"it's not about racism" (90% of the cast is treated like jews or niggers during hitler times)
>>
>>84537063
and then they talk about white privilege or whatever during the documentary
good god could you be any more hamfisted
>>
>>84537094

second: Nick Wilde.

everyone loooves Nick Wilde now, especially girls and people who really like foxes in general.

"so he was the main character?! i want to see it! my favorite husbando is being treated like shit, but he keeps fighting! that's so cuuuute!"

I hope that the sequel or TV show or whatever we get next is just buddy cop stuff and they gradually build up the relationship for the last movie

third:

-disney is not making enough dark movies!.

"we could have one now, that'd be so different from all these cuddly robots, bleached princesses and silly video game characters!"
>>
>>84537305

i dobut we'll get anything more than few comic books.
>>
>>84537493
Didn't the box office for this do well though?
>>
>>84537493
Not exactly, there has already been talk about zootopia 2 and especially the characters and stuff they couldn't use in the first movie.

It also did really well, one of the better ones to be honest. So will there be a sequel? Maybe, but if the fans keep showing interest, then yes
>>
>>84537585

Sure , but it has proto- stinker behind it.people are vocal about it.

Also it made good money because it was released during dead season, and was wonderfully detailed, so people kept watching it again to check for new Easter eggs to find.

Worldwide gross means shit.

The story/commentary is closed, any continuation will be pale in comparisoon.
>>
>>84537843
The story is closed how?

It could easily continue from where it ended.
>>
>>84534622
It had really powerful moments, but the story as a whole didn't work as well. It was far too black-and-white, and the message about prejudice didn't work because the problem was so obvious and far removed from how it works in the real world.
>>
>>84537956
The story that the setting was designed for was already told. Better to move on to a new idea than to try and milk more out of it.
>>
>>84537772

All the fans are furries, they are fickle and impatient in 4 years they will scatter, Rich cannot return sooner, and Byron is too much of a wild card, to work alone now(he might pull off "muh nick" again) Zootopia was a lightining in a bottle, you can hardly recreate it.

>>84537956

It needs a new good subject to tackle, none if that "interspieces romance" bullshit and animal puns can't carry a movie alone.
>>
>>84538644
The same can be said about Frozen but that's not stopping them. At least Zootopia has a ton of world building that it can draw upon and a ending that leaves plenty of room for a TV show and/or a sequel to work with. The only thing they'd need to do is come up with another story to tell and a point to get across because everything else is there already.

I'm not saying that whatever happens will be as good as Zootopia was, but don't deny the fact that there's a ton of stuff to build upon in the world they made so far.
>>
>>84538661
>>84538644
Simple, they could start where they left off and give them a new case to solve
>>
>>84538871
>The same can be said about Frozen but that's not stopping them.
Disney doing one stupid thing doesn't mean it's a good idea for them to do another stupid thing.

>The only thing they'd need to do is come up with another story to tell
>The only thing
That is the entire reason you would make a movie. See:

the whole shtick was "feel sorry for the fox":

he gets, zapped thanks to gerbils, he gets roughed up by the police after the wilde times park closure, he gets zapped while being mauled by savage manchas, etc. etc.

i know byron your fursona is a fox, but goddamit, realistically: you're Bellwether!

also i cant bieleve Lassetter really fell for "taming party" Koslov was a shit father, he should get his son to north pole, the villains of that story wanted to banish predators from the city anyway.

it's a disturbing scene, not emotional, there's a difference, some people who bought bluray claimed they felt really bad after watching it

i totally understand.

...now i imagine these gasping kids running away in circles in that room. this would be funny.
>>
>>84539052
Re-using an existing setting & characters instead of coming up with new ones tailored to fit a new story is the exact opposite of unimaginative.
>>
>>84539493
Doesn't mean they won't create totally new ones, they just want to use the unused characters in the second movie if there will be one.

Doesn't mean it will orientate around them.

if we're wishful thinking, i want night city, new districts and more finnick.
>>
>>84539552
That would be interesting. Though I imagine if there will be a sequel that Nick will know people in the underground or something to help the case or something.

>>84539493
Also they would be using the same city again obviously, as zootopia is about ZOOTOPIA, so the same settings would be used, derp.
>>
>>84539596

does it needs to be a case? does it needs to have Nick as a star?
it could be a fucking adventure movie, mockumentary or something completely different.

when i heard about WiR 2 i thought they will simply bring another arcade machine to Litwak's place, instead it's gonna be Ralph and Vaneloppe going thru internet.

think OUTSIDE OF THE BOX
>>
>>84537305
The original was so powerful because it was a whimsical comedy about funny animals turning into horror turning into chilling tale of fear and hate while remaining completely thematically consistent. I doubt they could repeat it again.
>>
>>84539683
Does it have to? No but it's most likely. A mockumentary would seem a tad weird and out of place

really big part of me wishes they could pull off "the sweatbox" on the "imagining zootopia" documentary , because of how disturbing AND fascinating protozootopia is... it's like a trainwreck. full of dead people and people are coming over to it.. but those are different times, information goes way too fast.

but other part of me, loves this single moment.
i keep chuckling.

I hope they will. I want to see what the ending to this version of Zootopia would be like.
>>
>>84541698

it's like asking for the script where Elsa was the villain of the story.

iirc nick uses power of friendship and defeats the evil sheep
>>
Bellweather is a great character, isn't she? She isn't just some kind of racist who fears predators or think they are inferior or whatever. She doesn't even consider calling her actions a self-defence.

The only species she actually hates is sheep. She's the same as Nick or Judy, born in wrong species, and if Judy fought to make the world accept her, and Nick just gave up, Bellweather put on cutesy little sheep persona seething with rage every time she puts on her goofy glasses, cutesy dress and seeing in the mirror what the world wants to see in her.

I love her.
