Holy shit.
If there's one complaint I've had with DC over the years is that they almost never have slow one-shot character based stuff and every arc has to be "Go Go Go!" huge sweeping plot stuff. I was hesitant about double shipping at first, but they're clearly making it work.

Basically, Wonder Woman Year One is a story Rucka has wanted to tell for quite some time. The fact that Grant Morrison got Wonder Woman Earth One really upset Rucka. When Geoff Johns called Rucka about potentially returning to Wonder Woman, Rucka asked if he could do Year One, and Johns said yes, as long as you tie it into the past. This double arc is Rucka's solution to addressing what he wants to do and what he has do it. It should be really interesting to see how this plays out.

I like the way he's been drawn sans beard in the Superman self-titled, he looks distinctly different enough from New 52 Clark/Superman in that book.
The beard made him look different and it goes with the whole distinction thing they wanted to make between both Clarks while they were both still around and active, ditto for that reason, the black suit (except for the shield being an El shield) - it was a good design, but it makes sense that he's now wearing the original color. The other issue about it would be that it's his post "return" from the dead color, but they couldn't very well make it all red or all blue?!

Jessica Cruz. When Sinestro destroyed the E-3 Power Ring in Forever Evil it seeked out the most weak willed pussy bitch in the Universe which was Jessica. The E-3 ring tries to dominate the host and override their own will power.
The JL took her on board to monitor and look after her, try give her some confidence to negate the ring. In the Darkseid war arc the black racer was about to kill the Flash and she jumped in front, seemingly sacrificing herself.
The power ring took the blunt of the hit and broke, she was then rewarded with a green lantern ring for overcoming great fear and overriding the power ring.
She is pretty useless but lot's of room for character development.
