How do I into Judge Dredd /co/?
>>84475744
Buy him a drink first.
just buy the Complete Case Files.
Read from the beginning, Dredd ages in real time and they will often bring up characters or events from previous stories. The complete case files are a good way to start
Days of chaos is a good story if you don't mind starting with recent stories. Otherwise the complete case files are a good start if you can deal with some of the wacky story from that time.
Also the thing to know is that everything is canon, dredd aged in real time. 1 year of issues make dredd 1 year older, but you don't need to know every story in order to enjoy the recent stuff
>>84475744
Either with the Case Files, if you can stomach the early weirdness, or The Pit, if you want something more modern.
Thanks for all the advice, I'm going to start with the Case Files.
Now that you've given me what I needed, would you like to post images of the man himself and call each other creep?
>>84478198
Sure thing,creep.
If the thread is up when I woke up tomorrow I can share The Art of Dredd
>>84478874
Sounds like a plan!
Meanwhile, I'm gonna celebrate that Brendan MacCarthy is drawing a new Wagner Dredd for the Sci-Fi special with a short storytime.

>>84477902
early weirdness is best weirdness.
seriously, those early stories are more ENJOYABLE than most recent comics.
Watch the 2012 movie.

Not a bad advice

>Malaysia
Australia and New Zealand I understand but was 2000AD big in Malaysia or something?
>>84475744
You should get into 2000AD as a whole. I'd suggest watching their documentary "Futureshock" first. It's how I got into a couple of years ago
>>84486221
Maybe a joke since you can also see the price for Saturn, Mars,...
DREDD movie comics and Brit-Cit spooks!

Yeah but it's listed with the other countries before they list planets Also this issue >>84485573 leads me to believe it wasn't a joke but I could be wrong

>Dredd will never call you a creep
Could anyone storytime two specific issues of Dredd/200 AD for me?
It's called "Nosferatu". I used to have it when I was a kid, but lost it, and my only digital copy was lost with my last laptop.

thank you
The end.
I will be beck later to continue with the art of dredd.
>>84487012
thank you, anon. You are truly an upstanding citizen!
>>84486964
so is this the movieverse one or what?
im working on a complete reading list for dredd, probably going to distribute some cbr or cbzs collecting all of these in order for anyone whos interested
I would suggest just reading the first Complete Case File, and then reading the Cursed Earth, which coincidentally begins in the second Case File
Judge Death and Judge Anderson are both introduced in the same story near the end of Case File 3
I don't know that if suggest reading all the case files, as each is like 300+ pages and there's 27 of them, but the beginning is a good place to start
>>84486694
Is that Frank?
>>84475744
Download a massive torrent with ALL the Judge Dredd comics.
It's on all the torrent sites.
DO IT!
>>84487481
The movieverse comics are published in the Megazine, but they're only one of many strips there.
>>84488692
The hype.
It's real.
>>84475744
I started the Case Files. Chronologically.
>>84487751
Frank's hideously mutated descendant prehaps
>>84491868
Uhg, LAWWW! Dredd
>>84492293
The weird part is thaht I truly enjoy this movie.
>>84492404
No accounting for taste I guess
>>84492638
I don't like it as a Dredd movie but as a product of the 90, it's the goofiness of everything that make me enjoying it, the same way I can enjoy Demolition man or Super Mario Bros.
>>84481591
Hey J. Anon. Thoughts on current Hershey trajectory? Shes been turned into a real whipping horse lately. I was thinking she was going to pull out something up her sleeve during this arc but she has pretty much been deer in the headlights as shit keeps rolling on top of her.
>>84492974
See you are putting me I a difficult positive anon. This is 4chan so I should yell at you for liking things I don't like and maybe call you a filthy millennial
But you did such an excellent story time I just don't want to.
Also Demolition Man is great
Finally a thread I actually care about
Someone other than me posted this once.
It was a good day.
Case File 7 is out of stock, fucking reprint this shit Rebellion
>>84496757
Do you recommend coloured reprints or the originals?
>>84500024
Not that guy but personally I don't much care for the colouring on the reprints. Give me that clean crisp black and white original art any day
>>84501164
found torrent both color and black&white. black&white looks better imo. still those with the color worth to check it out. If you are re-reading or something.
>>84495254
Very, very, very fucking annoyed. And the worst part is that she's STILL better here than in fucking Enceladus, where she turned into a literal dead weight for half the story. It kills me, and it especially kills me because her relationship with Dredd is fucking engaging as all Hell, but Wagner seems to be the only one who can write it well nowadays. Ewing could, but Marvel locked him tight, so no hope there.
So right now I'm torn between Wagner killing her in a dignified way and risking her legacy being these last few years of terrible stories, or keeping her alive in the hopes that someone who cares will eventually come along and write her well again.
>>84503311
My thoughts exactly. I like the Dredd/Hershay tension. But they've just shitted all over the tough as nails and expereinced judge part. It fucking says something when the accountant judge has been more bad ass than the chief in the past few years.
I rather she just sink out of the action scenes than continue to be the Galactus/Worf of Dredd.
>>84503861
I'm OK with her sinking out of the action scenes too but only if she's shown to be an actually competent Chief Judge, which is something that is *sorely* lacking. Pretty much every story with her nowadays is either:
A) Hershey comes up with a new idea to help the city get back on its feet, Dredd undermines the FUCK out of it, new idea gets scrapped.
B) New threat comes to the city, Hershey does fucking nothing and Dredd saves the day. Or in New Life's case, a random brit judge on the other side of the universe.
And it's annoying as fuck because it's throwing her under a bus for the sake of making Dredd look like a cool dude. Ewing and Wagner are pretty much the only ones interested in giving her any say in the matter. To everyone else, she's either an obtrusive bureaucrat or something to be rescued.
