I never really checked it out when I was a kid just but I've been looking for new toons to watch and this crossed my mind

First season and half of the second are decently clever.
Sort of jumped the shark and went into more lulrandom bullshit after that, though... as did Jhonen's comics.

This doesn't seem right. Granted, not many people like "Mortos", but "Zim Eats Waffles" felt like a pretty conventional bottle episode. "Taster of Pork" wasn't the best, but "Fry-Cook" was good, so it all evens out. The X-Mas special did have a lot of out-there elements, but I'd attribute that to them rushing in stuff that they knew they'd never get to use otherwise (Minimoose.)

It was really fun for me as a kid and even now as an adult. Show is Spoopy at times. Jhonen Vasquez really knows how to set the dark yet funny and comfy mood.
