The whole episode felt like the kind of thing that should have never been approved. Don't get me wrong I thought it was good but it went places I wouldnt have expected this show to go. I feel like I'm the only person in the world who doesn't. It always bugged me that in movies and shows you can't have a boy and girl character just be friends. By the end of the show they're going to become a couple no matter what. Like, I really enjoyed the dynamic ron and kim had in Kim Possible, but of course they had to hook up in the end because boys and girls can't just be friends.
I think the only example I've seen that hasn't followed this formula is American Dragon. There was an episode where it was valentine's day or something and everybody kept suggesting Trixie and Spud hook up. At the end of the episode they give in, kiss, then shrug and realize they both have absolutely no feelings for each other.
I really like marco and Star's dynamic, I feel like making them a couple is a bit forced.

It's part of the style. Scenes without music to allow for a "natural" feel or build up tension, with music in each episode being unique and no pieces being reused (though some characters have themes that are arranged differently at times).
I actually really really like it and think it's better than hearing the same music in every episode or constant cartoony music emphasizing every action on screen, but apparently the relative lack of music really annoys some people.

I think so. It might just be the lighting of the scene, but the illusion Star Ludo saw had green eyes, and just before she showed up, Ludo saw a green shooting star in the sky.

Possibly. At the very end of season one, you see the shard next to be a bone with three notches/scratches in it. When Ludo gets it, you can see this bone has the same notches in it, however there is now a skeletal hand clutching the shard. Some people think Toffee is very slowly regenerating from that bone.

I also love how much the show seems to be heading away from the pure and sweet nobody-ever-gets-hurts theme that seemed present in the earliest episodes. That part with the spider ripping apart and eating the bug dude and then ludo feeding on the scraps was pretty brutal for a show like this, I figured toffee blowing up was as far as they would be allowed to take it.
