Sometimes jokes delivery fall a bit flat, so don't expect the same pacing as GF's dialogues, but the humor is still nice and way less "lol so randomXD" than one could expect from the first few minutes.
There is a good amount of continuity, for a show with 11 minutes episodes, a LOT of cute friendship moments (you can ship to your heart's content, if that's your cup of tea, or simply enjoy a fresh and satisfying portrayal of friendship, with no drama or forced moments).
The first five episodes are more "autoconclusive", with the sixth one there is more and more world and lore building (again, this is no GF, but season 2 promises a good amount of plot along with mindless fun), with a surprising season finale.
A good show, not an amazing one, but it has amazing protagonists and potential to become really big with the new season.

Well Janna would be a perfect example of how they could do that, given her shown interest in the generally weird, morbid and magic. However, in a show that has two clear atmospheric divides it is necessary to having supporting characters for both sets of atmospheres, in this instance being the normal world and the magical worlds. I haven't really nutted out her personality 100%, but I'll try and give you some points.
I see her as an outwardly playful person, very confident in her daily interactions, quite honest and level headed. Perhaps likes messing with people a little, not Janna levels, but knows her way around social situations to get a result.
If we're talking about Tammy as Tom's sister, then I think she loves her brother a lot, and I imagine that she isn't at all welcoming of Star's more blunt manner of dealing with Tom. If I wrote anything about her I would probably have the focus on her helping Tom try to control his anger and her tension toward Star and looking at how her leaving Tom has affected him. This probably drudges up some of Tammy's underlying problems.
I see her as having the opposite of Tom's high power, low control abilities, where she has the abilities to take on people like Star, but doesn't have enough power yet to sufficiently pose a threat for very long. I imagine that she tries to hide this and is a bit self conscious about it. She is a demon like Tom, so there's always a chance for anger. It would be pretty cool if she had found ways to think laterally in order to use her power to it's maximum.
