Not counting Bronies, do we have a presence as a fandom?
As far as pop cultural awareness goes, anime fans are a known entity, so are Trekkie. Furries too are a somewhat known thing, even if they are generally portrayed all kinds of wrong. Gamers. Whoovians. Etc.
Do 'cartoon fans' have any sort of recognition as a fandom that exists?

The disney fandom is probably the only one with any amount of "force."
Isn't that whole D23 thing all about the disney fandom? They probably pack that convention with consumer analysts and I wouldn't be surprised if execs use the feedback in producing new work.
