Sorry, to be clearer: Of Spanish-speaking countries, Spain is the only one that likes Castilian Spanish.
They are different, like how American English is different from British English.
But still, there's not really a "Latin American Spanish". Pronunciation differs from country to country and from region to region. Wikipedia says it better than I can: https://www.wikiwand.com/en/Spanish_language_in_the_Americas
>>84321869
The mom gorilla arrived just in time to save tarzan, before Sabor got a chance to eat him. Tarzan was probably quiet until the cat wandered off thinking there was nothing else to kill. You see his parents bodies in the corner with a shotgun and bloody paw prints.
>>84321869
Tarzan's parents probably died trying to protect their baby. also I guess he was in the house when this happened, that's why he didn't die.

I like Carmen Sarahí (Latin American Spanish).
I think it's interesting that they have videos of all these singers. It makes sense to record the original voice actors for animation purposes, but I don't think you'd need to record dub VAs. I wonder if shot them because they knew they were going to make this video beforehand or if they went back and shot the dubbers lip-syncing later.
>>84321898
Honestly the entire Russian dub of the movie is fantastic. Once Upon a December is probably my favorite song in that version

>>84321661
Soo as a Mexican-German guy I have to say that while German is my first language and Germany has most often amazing casts, due to a long tradition of dubbing, most songs they do are sub par in comparison to others.
It mostly comes down to the translators in German most of the time insisting to write very formal and exact German translations and not being willing to let the characters sing naturally (out of songs for example EVERYONE is referred to as "Sie" eventhough most of the time its obvious "du" would be a better translation.)
For example in be prepared:
"A shining new ear is tip toeing nearer- And where do we feature?- JUST LISTEN TO TEACHER"
"The golden era sneaks nearer and nearer - AND WHATS IN IT FOR US? (also prenounced in "slang" that nobody uses with that kind of voice. If the hyenas had Ruhrpott accents I would buy it, but not with those voices). -
"I won't leave you out" (pretty much a line just added to keep a rhyme, but missing the arrogance and patronizing style of the original listen to teacher, which is underlined by the gesture).
Anyways, good songs from Latin America and Germany.

The defining difference would be castillian having 'ce', 'ci' and 'z' be the 'th' in "something" (thus why we lisp, there's no english 'z' in spanish at all), while latin will change the 'th' into an 's', or some other sound.
Then you have that weird funny way they talk, kinda like singing, like english does. Castillian is more monotone, like finnish. Festive vs serious/rude

I like the Japanese the most. actually Japanese has a natural advantage, because how it's phonetics is structured: a consonant is always followed by a vocal - you may not always find a rhyme, but it'll always flow in rhythm. On the other hand languages like Polish or Finnish (or any nordic/slavic actually... my native lang is Russian btw) struggle because 2, 3 or even 4 consonants can stack in one word...

I live in Germany and I hate their dubs, because there is like one single VA agency here and every tv, cartoon, movie, show or whatever is dubbed by the same guys... even if you watch some 20yo reruns they are still there. they may be not the worst VAs but they do everything with the same expressions and intonations. Gott sei dank, they can't sing therefore are forced to hire actual singers for the songs and intros.

Does anyone else really like seeing how lyrics are adapted into other languages to fit meter, rhyming, and local idioms?
Except for Japanese translations, because Japan somehow thinks not rhyming is okay.
>>84325718
I do, if the adaptation has managed to be at least melodic in its own way (not asking to be the same as original ofc) - then I would check how well it also manages to convey the same meaning. if it sounds meh idc for localization value as well.
