There are no race based schools, true, but there are lots of schools where the student body is 95%-100% one race, based on where the school is located.
But religion-based schools are 100% legal and common here. There are Jewish schools, and Catholic schools, and Lutheran schools, etc. They simply can't be tax payer funded, which is why it's usually rich kids who attend them because their parents have to pay.

Funny thin about theater, when you do theater it really doesn't matter what race you are only as long as you physically look the part and sound the part.
So you can have a black guy play the lead role in let's say Les Miserable as the young male character as long as he looks: thin, pretty face, great voice and stage presences. The thing is you can do this because there are multiple productions of the same show. That's why you can do different races.
But there are some shows that require certain races like Hamilton. The problem is that Hamilton won't be done in smaller areas and community theater because of lack of black men interested.
I'm only saying this because of all the recent changes to characters races and sex in these comics and movies and TV shows. Having a person play a different race in theater is fine and works, but it doesn't in other formats.
I think it's do to the fact that it's the same show being produced and the roles can be played multiple times by different people.
