Like I said, you obviously haven't read much of Remender's run. The entire thing was about him dealing with his inner demons, with the symbiote representative of that. Remember, his dad died, his girlfriend left him, he started drinking again, and more. It was all about him struggling against the symbiote's corruption.
It's also why I enjoy Spaceknight, because it actually allowed him to be the big hero he's always wanted to be, without the symbiote holding him back. It was nice for a little, and now I'm happy it looks like we're going back to classic Agent Venom.

Fucking Bunn? While not quite as good as Remender's run, Bunn was by no means bad, especially with how he brought in both the callback to the Venom clone, which became Mania, and brought in the plot point of Circle of Four which remained mostly unresolved with the other three. If anyone screwed the pooch it was Bendis who took what could've been a cool idea of Agent Venom in space and set up the pieces for that Space Knight bullshit to happen.

I think the reason he's been in so many games is they were made when Eddie was Venom, and unlike Flash Venom he doesn't use guns which would probably increase the rating more than any shit the symbiote can do on its own. So they're less inclined to include Flash. A named character using guns is different than some nameless mooks using guns.
