That's cause Lincoln's a controlling guy who's main trait is coming up with plans to get his way. Steven practically bends over backwards in trying to help everybody, hardly ever asking for anything in return, Dipper's just a little bitch, but he can rise to great occasions.
They work in their settings, but if they were in each others shoes, it wouldn't be as interesting.

5 cups of water
1 tablespoon of salt
1 tablespoon of vinegar
1 drop of honey
1/2 a packet of pink lemonade powder
3 tablespoons of lemon juice
2 teaspoons of garlic
1 tablespoon of onion powder
A squirt of Febreeze air freshener (optional)
Mix all ingredients in a large pot and bring it to a boil. Pour it in a large pitcher and put it in the fridge to cool. Wait 45 minutes, then take out and enjoy.

Reccently got into this cartoon.
Two ways to make it better than it is is for Lincoln to be less apologetic about trying to stake his claim on shit and for Lincoln to find a new friend(s).
After watching the new episode, I have to say that is probably my least favorite out of the whole season so far.
Also Lori being a caring older sister and making pizza bites was unexpected and cute.

The cartoon takes a fun twist when you look at it from the perspective of the sisters, to them Lincoln is just and weird and crazy as everybody else, he's a perfectionist, a control freak. He want's everything to be 100% to his standards and can be really pushy and condescending about it because everything in his house is out of his control and always has been. It's a pretty classic middle child trait too.

In Overnight Success and other episodes, he doesn't get retribution. Hell, he got a great sleepover with Clyde and his sisters and was quite happy with how it turned out.
Now The Green House is really the one that I remember Lincoln ended up in a much worse place, but that one just ran him into the ground based on the demands of his class and his need to cater to his friends.

Lincoln has spent months making a costume of his favorite cheesy scifi movie character in hopes of winning the costume contest at an upcoming convention but Leni accidentally destroys it. In order to make it up to him she agrees to help him make a new one and the two bond over the project, Leni even likes the movie when Lincoln shows it to her and she makes her own costume so they can go to the convention together. When they attend the convention Lincoln becomes jealous that everyone won't stop paying attention to Leni and storms off when she wins the costume contest, not realizing that all the attention is starting to make her uncomfortable. After he's had some time to cool off Lincoln goes to find Leni again only to see her running scared from all her new fans and he saves her in a scene similar to the movie. Lincoln apologizes for leaving her alone and they head home to watch the movie again, right after Lincoln imparts a nugget of wisdom to the audience Lori walks by and teases them for being into such a dumb movie.
