No to spoil anything but there is a reveal in this trailer thats gonna make many many people happy.
On a sadder note it looks like this will indeed be the last 4 part EAH special, also Raven and Apple and the usual line up look to be sitting this one out, though it also seems the more neglected girls get a time to shine.

Well, most people don't ship Daring with Apple, so many fans said there was no way he was Apple's destined Prince Charming. This led people to look at his incredibly vain personality and think about what other famous prince with a shit personality is there, "I know! the Beast"
Of course there was some resistance to this because the Beast wasn't just vain, he was a massive dick, and Daring may make vain enough to make Narcissus look sane, but he isn't mean. So a few thought this might disqualify him.

So someone asked me to do some Raven/Briar headcanons

>First Date – Ever After High school Prom. Out of the blue, Briar just came to Raven’s room demanding that the both of them should go to it. Since the prom itself should be with one person that changed your life the most, Briar wasn’t going to leave without a yes. Raven sighs, she wasn’t going to go to it in the first place, but if it was to get the determined girl out of her room, then yeah.
>Kids – They have twin boys (Raven was the one to carry them) they are friends with children of: Apple/Cedar, Cerise/Faybelle, Daring/Humphrey
>Bitter ending au (ignoring the “Kids” canon) – Briar was put to sleep, Raven begs Faybelle to put herself to sleep with her. The two of them are placed together in the same bed, facing one another. I don't even think we'll get a new season of web shorts after Chapter 4. I just hope we'll get some sort of finale like seeing what their lives are after graduation.
As for that Ever After High x Monster High movie, no one knows if that'll even get made. After all, it is called "The Lost Movie".

You know, I thought I figured out the Faybelle's mother situtation, I thought I did, but then I remembered the one small detail about her, that threw it all out the window.

basically, it leads to the idea that The Evil Queen literally stole the essence of "The Dark Fairy" from Faybelle's mom, her mom's magic and everything.
Since it said that it said that the evil queen stole her role in the story, and her role in the story was the dark fairy, meaning she stole "the dark fairy" from Fay's mother

If we take the idea that the magic that let's Raven suck up magic to the next level, it wouldn't be a shocking idea to think that the Evil Queen could absorb magic, or at least dark magic that would be the dark fairy.

This is what got me, and I'm sure alot of people, confused. after all, it seemed like it goes against the fact that she takes pride in the fact that she is the dark fairy.
So then why?
What if, her mom wasn’t her mom? What if after having “the dark fairy” stripped her turned her into something else. The dark Fairy stripped of her magic, stripped of her title, what would she be? She would be nothing, right? After all, as prideful as she was, those two things were what made, what would she be, perhaps, she would feel nothing? What if it was like a void? Perhaps, not her existence (like if you don’t sign the book) but like the very thing, that makes her mom, her mom.
Perhaps the mom that Faybelle has now, just stays in bed, just looking off into the window, as if her mind is blank, like her page in her story. Just watching, as no thought goes through her mind. Almost at a near vegetable state.
Often time, Faybelle would come into her mother’s room to talk. She would come to peel apples for her mother to eat, but everytime she comes into the room; it’s like her mother is no longer there. That the hope she has for her mother to come back to her self, but she knows deep down, her mom will never return.
It isn’t that she doesn’t like her mom, it’s more to the fact she doesn’t like what she has become. Think of how like in Silent Hill 2 how James was like with his sick wife – minus Fay trying to kill her mother.

Now the major question here is.

Granted, this is a good question. Why be with the woman that put your mother like this?
Perhaps it isn’t because it’s the “Evil Queen” that Fay wanted to be with, but “The Dark Fairy” that the Evil Queen took from her mother.
In her own mind, she wanted to be closer to her “mother” like she once was when she was a child. Using the evil queen as a replacement.
Now the thought may cross your mind, “Aren’t you thinking a little too into this” yeah, I might just.
But then, what about Faybelle’s reaction? When she found out that the Evil Queen was only using her as a replacement for her own daughter, just like she did with the evil queen.
It was a major shock, after all, though she tried to pretend, this woman wasn’t her mother.
It starts to actually add up. This explained everything about Faybelle’s mother, as well as the inconsistency of her reasons as to “why” she is the way she is.

It does, but since Mattel lost the Disney Princess license, it would make sense for them to keep their own princess line alive. It's not like EAH dolls do not sell, they're just not as huge of a hit as Monster High was.

It's the typical "destined evil girl decides not to be bad" situation you seem to run into a lot lately, but rather than being some sort of anti-hero or social reject, Raven is a rather nice. And Apple is her friend, although Apple's desire to stick things back on destiny-track causes some problems.

I always thought of Faybelle as the amused side-liner in the romantic shenanigans, although I do like the idea of her being tsundere for Raven.
I just always had the impression that Faybelle was the sort of girl who would be working at the coffee shop Raven and some of her friends stopped by and serve Raven apple cinnamon tea regardless of what she actually ordered.After Duchess stops by with Justine, Faybelle teases Duchess by giving her mocha chocolate coffee and a brown sugar muffin whenever she comes in.

Leaving aside the good king and what he had before (Apple's would be father?), Raven's mother took over several kingdoms and in that time would of had not only the magic but the money and power of those kingdoms to built up the her own foundation to rule all of that world and bring up her daughter. Though their times were short, there was nothing that these two young girls didn’t know about one another, and through their body motion you could feel this. There wasn’t apart of them that was a mystery to one another, their rhythm reflected this. There were no words shared between these two girls, because the only words they ever needs was their breathing and body language.
As she danced; Justine couldn’t help but cry, but she continued to dance.

To stop dancing meant to disrespect Duchess. To wipe away her tears meant to disrespect herself. There was nothing to do but to dance through her tears. The more she danced, the more she felt the tears fall. These were the emotions she incorporated into her movements as she put everything she had into her movement.

Only a couple of months earlier, Justine could remember the last major date they had. “The Dance of the Red Shoes” an event of “Once in a generation,” it was the dance where daughter of the red shoes dancer performed her final number, in front of thousands of spectating eyes. The event itself lasted for nearly a week as the audience watched as the young woman literally danced herself to death, a woman that was only a few years older than her and Duchess, she was a mother of two.
From an outsider’s point of view, yes it could easily be seen as a morbid sight. From the stage being painted in red as the young woman kicked; to the fact that countless gazes just sat in their seats, watching, not doing anything, all in captivated as she danced her life away. But there was something about it, which you couldn’t look away. The “Dance of death” was an interesting fact, as dark as it was, it, in a strange way, had its own light – as the woman revealed her entire life through her dance. Everything in her life was all built up to this.
Justine remembered that she and Duchess couldn’t pull their gaze away from this. It was such a beautiful sight, this woman knew she was destined to die in a blood bath, but she didn’t seem scared, she didn’t seem to fear that fact. She was dancing her heart at. That was all she cared about.
Justine remembered, she just couldn’t look away.

Perhaps this is why Duchess danced her heart out, Justine thought to herself. She was dancing knowing full well that there were two possible outcomes in her story, one more depressing than the other. She knew that she couldn’t do a damn thing about it, though she tried to her damndest to change everything, but everything was going to come to an end – right here, right now. As their Pas de deux, Justine couldn’t help but feel both of their emotions as they continued to dance.

The music was dying, the rhythm that was playing in their hearts started to fade. Justine could feel their panic as their body movement that was in perfect sync started to speed up. She could feel her breathing speed up, not just because energy was about out, but because their story, their dance, was over.
The ending was coming soon.

The two continued to dance, matching one another body motion in perfect synchronization with their own body movement. Everything they have done together; every minute they spent together; every night they had embraced…it felt like it was all for this. Had they not had all those precious moments together, they never would be here dancing together.
Had she not been the daughter of the twelfth dancing sister, would she never be in this situation. It is a scary thought that everything from the moment you were born everything was written out for you. Had she not been the Justine Dancer she was born as, she wouldn’t be in this moment, dancing with the woman she has loved – in their final moments together.
This is why they dance. Because their life was like a story book, and all stories must come to an ending. It may not all be good, it may not all be bad, but in the end…there is only the ending. This was their ending.

Their motions were becoming slower, as they came to their final moments together. Their music was coming to its climax. Though she didn’t want to, there was no way to avoid such a fate. The only thing they could was see this story to the very end. It was the only respectable she could do. At least this way, Justine could show her love, by staying with Duchess through these final moments.
They slowly came to a stop.

It was like Justine could feel hundreds of eyes gazing at the two dancers, watching as reached the end of their duet. Of course, she didn’t blame these people from doing nothing to help them – after all, the show must go on. All the two of them could do was show their appreciation.
Slowly, the two women came to a stop, back-to-back, facing into opposite directions – as if the audience they were imagining was staring at them from all directions.
At this point, the show was coming to an end. And there was only one thing the two girls could do.
They bowed.
And Justine could feel the tears in her eyes flow even heavier.

Throughout their dance, Justine could feel the presence of the woman she loved next to her as they both danced their heart away; but now. Now she felt nothing. She was all alone, like the Ugly Duckling that had been abandoned by its parents.
Justine cried, but she dared not say a thing. Duchess was a prideful woman, and she knew that if she were to breakdown now, it would mean everything that they just been through together would be for nothing, but there was no helping it, Justine didn’t want to be alone. She wanted to be with the one she loved.
But she couldn’t.
The Story came to an end.
There was no way to rewrite it.
Justine knew there was one only thing she could do. Her body began to move again.
She started to dance again.
Only the difference now was that this was no longer a duet, but it was only a solo act.
But even as a solo; Justine couldn’t half assed it. Duchess would have kicked her ass otherwise.
She put all of her emotions. All the sadness, all the rage, all the pain, everything into this new dance she was creating.
She hated being a lone. It hurt her so much.
But all she could do was go on with her life, her story was still going. There was nothing to do.
One day her story will come to an end and she will see her love once again; but for now, she could do nothing about it.
She danced.

Faybelle has been raised to love the light, to stand in the spotlight...That she is the dark fairy, she should be loud and proud because of who she.
But then you have Cerise, whom has been hiding in the shadows her entire life, trying to make sure no one finds out her secret (granted, the writers seem to forget this.)

They specifically go out of their way to mention that Raven and Apple, and their mothers, aren't related to avoid any confusion about this kind of stuff. Same reason "Charming" is a very common last name and only the three siblings we see are related, and only to each other and definitely not anyone else.

That and the fact that unexpected disasters never happen if people stay on-book are probably the big reasons nobody's openly questioned the system before now, and only EQ's spectacular failure at parenting gave Raven enough of an axe to grind with destiny to say what others were thinking.

Dragon Games was an enjoyable series, but there were some things about it that bugged me.
The Snow retcon was one, although book continuity and show continuity have always been two different things.
Darling sorta taking over Briar's role and pushing her out of an event Briar would never normally miss out on an opportunity to participate in.

Walking back Apple's character development from Way Too Wonderland to make her and Raven have The Fight AGAIN over something that honestly seemed like it was resolved for good in the last special. I get the explanation that Apple backslides because her mom puts pressure on her and EQ takes advantage, but I felt like WtW was the proper ending to the Royal/Rebel conflict while Dragon Games snarled it.

I dunno, I feel like the WTW, DG, and now Epic Winter serves as a transition (albeit bumpy) between "Rebel vs Royal" to "Power Princess" with Epic Winter is shown to wrap up at least one last bit concerning destiny, particularly Daring's. The problem though is that the conflict concerning destiny was the most interesting part of the series with a story arc that spanned the whole series. Will the Power Princess rebrand be as entertaining? Or are we just going to be stuck with one shot stories? Where do we go from here?

And now several characters are dead weight. Duchess used to be a good foil for both Raven and Apple because she believed in the sytem, but tried to subvert it to get a good end for herself at the expense of someone else. Now she has no real conflict.

Pretty sure that would have been Maddie: she never had any roots in any of the conflict so it it's easy for her to get along with both Raven and Apple. Maddie took what would have been Raven's place as president of the Rebels and helped solve the issues of the school with Apple. Maddie comedy route made it easy for writers to include on adventures to bonce off the two straight role mains and in book two Maddie suffering helped give reason for the two sides to help.

Out of everyone, the wonderlandians probably had the most reason to hate Raven for what her mother did.
But not Maddie, she had never shown her malice, she doesn't even seem upset at her, you could almost call her crazy. But no, maddie wanted to be best friends, instead of adding to the hate

You are right, Raven and Apple's story arc concerning destiny sort of played second fiddle in WTW, but was the main focal point in DG. Plus, it showcased Apple's weakest traits that helped add to her character: her jealousy towards Raven's newfound popularity, being easily manipulated by both her mom and Raven's, and her desperation with believing in the EQ. Her actions leading to her sabotaging her own Happily Ever After is one of my favorite moments in the whole franchise.

Maybe? I feel that it's less jealousy about Raven being popular and more being uncertain about her place in the world now. Remember Apple was going to be ruler of the kingdom. A role she had been training for her whole life. Everyone in the school turned to her to solve things and now they don't seem to need her anymore. To her credit Apple won't have said anything if Snow hadn't started making a fuss.

Raven was tricked by a hologram; Briar by a simple conversation; Apple had both her mothers on her back and the threat of exposure for freeing the worst criminal in history. So I wouldn't knock Apple for being used but for more believing the Evil Queen had the answers.
