Absolutely the sense of adventure and wonder. I was rereading a good chunk of the earlier acts the other night. Stuff like Enter, Dave: Accelerate, Jack: Ascend, WV: Rise Up, they all convey a sense of wondrous, epic adventure thanks to the gorgeous way Hussie drew environments, his great sense of animation flow, and of course the incredible music.
Pretty much all facets of the comic are amazing at that point, of course.

Dave is incredibly hard for me since I live in the south myself, so I can't really distinguish anything as a "southern drawl" before we get dangerously close to Con Air levels, and I have no idea how Jade would talk. I mean you get what, a few years of one person talking and thats it? I'd imagine there's all sort of weird idiosyncrasies in her speech that were never pointed out or corrected.

Eventually they both agree that while Vriska was a dangerous person who harmed those around her, she didn't deserve death, but Terezi had no other choice and they'll both have to live with the deed -- and the feelings they had for Vriska, romantic or otherwise.
Kanaya is a bit overwhelmed having to deal with both Terezi and Rose's issues, but she manages, and proves that she's actually a valuable friend on top of just being good with a chainsaw.
